Answer:	The one that I ordered and received has a 1" (inch) strap. I do not know if there are any other models that are either narrower or wider. Also, I've had this for over 3 years now and I do not know if they made any changes.

Answer:

It will hold a four and one half inch inch cylinder, thirty-six and three eighths inches long, fully zipped for one end to the other. However, in doing so you lose the use of the outside pockets. Did I mention that it's very well put together? It will hold anything you can stuff into it very securely, and when it's zipped up it can be padlocked. This truely is a great bag. (At least the one I got is and I've never heard anyone bad-mouth one.)
