| Answer: | Pick a spot along the wire where you would like to install the resistor, carefully separate the two wires for a length of the resistor. If you look very closely you will see that one of the wires has raised ridges along its length, cut this wire and install the resistor inline, just the one wire. I recommend soldering the connection and using heat shrink insulation on solder joints but tape will work. I cut a section of wire out that was the length of the resistor, so when it was installed the other uncut wire stayed nice and tight along the side of the resistor without a large loop. I then taped both wire and resister together and ran the wire through the wall to the doorbell. Hope this helps. |
