If the device is already plugged in then it does not record any sound. Answer:	I purchased Verbatim CD-RW discs with 700 MB capacity. It is very important to purchase RW instead of just R type discs. I purchased from Amazon the program "Express Burn Disc Burning" program as I need to Scan many Physical Records into my computer and then burned the information to the Discs. I was successful in copying pictures and records needed to file a claim with VA because of health problems when I was in Viet Nam for 2years, 6 months and 17 days. This also included MRI and X-Rays. I then would burn disc from information on the discs given to me from Hospitals, Doctors and information that I had to copy to a disc. I firmly believe that you need to purchase the CD-RW, Rewritable Discs to use and I firmly believe that you will be able to burn .ISO files using the Express Burn Program. I have tried using discs that are CD-W and it will not copy, pictures or the files that I needed to burn to a disc, however, when using the "Express Burn Program" with CD-RW discs, it will copy your files. Answer:	Yes, it has all the cables you need. It has the UBS connector and it has the three RCA cables (red,white,and yellow). It does not have a S-cable but there is a place to connect it if you want to use one for slightly better video output.

Answer:	Generally, the drive will have "DVD Recorder", "DVD Multi Recorder", or similar on the drive tray door. You can also right-click on your drive letter in Windows Explorer under "This PC", then click on properties. There should be a "Recording" tab on your properties dialog box. The DVD will only hold up to 4.2 gigabytes so make sure of the file size before burning or it have to go on to 2 DVD's.When burning, make sure there is an option to make the DVD playable on your TV or other devices (i.e. portable dvd player). Depending on the age of the player, older models may not play the dvd while newer ones will.In the US, players will only take a dvd if it is formated for NTSC. PAL formats are for other countries.I have ripped older movies but found newer ones have a copyright block that will prevent you from ripping them. So if you are hoping to rip Frozen to another dvd, it may not happen.I have used VHStoDVD recently on home made VHS tapes but had problems burning while I was on Windows 8. Answer:	When playing video on displays larger than Quad HD+ (or any file greater than 3200 x 1800 resolution), PowerDVD enters a high performance mode that disables some non-essential playback features. Question:	Does this software (ultra version) play 4k blu rays or will it? I know it supports 4k video playback but I felt the need to make the distinction
Answer:	From what I read online about 4 months ago when I bought this(not through amazon) there isn't any video software that can run a 4k blu ray. I think it's a hardware problem and it's also most likely a copyright issue with Sony. My blu ray drive wouldn't even recognize a 4k disc. Forgot to mention in my original answer, if you can get a blu ray drive that at least recognizes the disc, you may be able to rip it from the disc and still watch it in 4k. I've always been of the opinion that an actual blu ray looks a bit clearer than a file that was ripped from a blu ray but i'ts probably still better than upscaling.

Answer:	I think CyberLink is a very liberal, customer oriented company. Their Tech Support has always been excellent. There are companies that try to bleed you death by only allowing use on one PC. They limit the use to one PC by using a server that identifies you each time you activate their program. You know the program you bought, but don't really own, even though you paid for it. I have the complete set of CyberLink products. They have never tried to limit me to only using one of my PCs. In fact, they've always been very reasonable and cooperative with me. That's why I continue to buy off of them. Some software companies are owned by 1st class control freaks. They must get great satisfaction limiting how you use your equipment.

Answer:	Not sure never tried I use video and have no problems with older versions so far

Answer:	USB 2.0 is the *type* of USB port. Currently we are up to USB 3.0 which is even faster. This will work in a USB 3.0 port and you don't need blazing speed to read a DVD.

Answer:	Perhaps this is info is too late, but I had this LG drive for about 6 months using it with Win-7.I just upgraded to Windows 10 last week, and the drive works just fine. I didn't have to update any drivers or anything.Unless Window 10 found the drivers and installed them in the background, so I didn't notice, but the bottom line is that it works fine.
