What about those who want to use the Gen8 chassis, but would rather install their own electronics, body, wheels, and tires? That's where the Gen8 PACK comes into play. With custom builders making up a large percentage of the RC crawler community, We wanted to offer something this community could really get excited about. We at Redcat are now offering the Gen8 P-A-C-K (Pre-Assembled Chassis Kit), for those who want to run the Gen8 chassis with their own choice of electronics, wheels, tires, and body. The Gen8 PACK already includes many of the features custom builders look for, and is ready to be transformed into a high performance, one of a kind, custom rig. The Gen8 PACK uses the same chassis that makes the Gen8 International Scout II RTR vehicle so great. The Gen8 PACK is a highly competitive professional rock crawler chassis that includes many high performance design features, such as: C-channel frame rails, low center of gravity battery tray, centrally mounted divorced transfer case, lockable slipper clutch, portal axles with metal gear covers, MOD-1 gears, machined aluminum spools, front CVAs, 32 rubber-sealed ball bearings, threaded aluminum shocks, 47º steering blocks with proper Ackerman, Panhard bar, LED-ready bumpers, winch-ready front bumper, and frame mounted floor pans. The Gen8 PACK uses portal axles with 47º of steering to help the vehicle maneuver tight spaces. The additional ground clearance offered by the portal axles allows the Gen8 to roll over obstacles, that might normally hang up other vehicles with traditional axles. The Gen8’s portal axles are outfitted with MOD1 gears for increased durability. Machined aluminum spools are used to ensure, that both, the left and right tires have equal pulling power. Aluminum Panhard bars are used to keep the portal axles from shifting side to side. This setup has proven to be a very effective combination, both on the trail, and on the rocks. Portal axles provide more ground clearance without the need for big tires. On the GEN8 PACK, much of the gear reduction happens inside the portal axles, which means less chassis torque twist than traditional axle shaft driven rock crawlers. The innovative dual design slipper clutch allows the driver to set the slipper clutch to the desired tension, or completely lock it out. Locking out the slipper clutch is simple, just remove the slipper pads and springs, then reassemble. The GEN8 PACK includes Mod 1 gears in the transmission, transfer case, and portal axles. As mentioned above, the Gen8 chassis uses a divorced transfer case. There are several advantages to this setup, such as an even distribution of the weight along the centerline of the vehicle, while allowing for a very low center of gravity. This is noticeable on the trail and when attacking aggressive slopes sideways. The divorced transfer case also allows the battery to be seated lower in the chassis. This too, keeps the center of gravity low, but also creates room for a custom built cockpit. This is sure to be a huge selling point for the true-to-scale custom builders out there. Custom builders will be excited to know they can purchase the Gen8 PACK and install a motor, speed controller, radio system, steering servo, battery, wheels, tires, and body of their choice; all of which are not included with the PACK. This is a great way for drivers to create custom rigs of their own, using the new Gen8 chassis as a base. For builders looking to completely customize their Gen8 PACK, Redcat has released an ever growing collection of FREE 3D printable parts files specifically for the Gen8/Gen8 PACK. Answer:	Frame rails are metal, so it the motor mounting plate. Metal gears and ball bearings throughout with the exception of the spur gear. Shock bodies are aluminum, the rest is plastic.

Answer:	Good catch in the description, but it does NOT come with any wheels of any kind. This is just the chassis already assembled. You will need to supply a body, wheels, speed control, servo, battery and a motor with a 32 pitch pinion.

AR44 SINGLE PIECE HI-PINION AXLES

The AR44 axle features a high pinion gear set for a much lower gear ratio than most cars, plus a smaller pumpkin and added strength. The gear set overcomes the torque twist often associated with smaller gear sets. The axle itself retains the durability associated with the SCX10, despite being delivered in a smaller axle housing.

CAB FORWARD BODY DESIGN

The kit comes with a realistic, military based, cab forward body. The aggressive approach angle created by its front end design enables the UMG10 to take on steep inclines. It's 11.4" (288mm) wheelbase helps with agility in challenging terrain.

NEW REAR CAGE DESIGN

Features a spare tire carrier and hinge design that allows easy access to the battery and on-board components. The body and cage are bolted together. The hinge at the rear of the chassis will tilt the body and cage up and out of the way.

INTERIOR DETAILS

Detail your UMG10 kit's interior with the parts provided. Choose from three hat styles for the driver's plastic molded head. Shift levers, a steering wheel, and a variety of decals are also included.

LED MOUNTING

A total of eight mounting locations for LEDs are found throughout the vehicle. Four lights can be mounted in the front grille, two in the front bumper, and two in the rear frame plate. (LED lights are not included)

1.9 MW19 BEADLOCK WHEELS

The UMG10 kit features a full set of 1.9 MW19 beadlock wheels, along with a spare mounted on the back of the truck – five in total. It's a three piece wheel design, utilizing six screws which help the wheel firmly grip the MT45 tires. The wheel nut cap resembles a receptacle for a simulated central tire inflation system. The wheels are molded in black plastic and feature a standard 12mm wheel hex hub.

Keeping the truck on course and climbing difficult terrain are a set of MT45 tires molded in our sticky R35 compound rubber. The big block symmetrical tread pattern provides plenty of grip for climbing steep obstacles.

The updated RR10 Bomber RTR package's new Spektrum DX3 radio uses exclusive DSMR technology for superior range, response, and interference resistance. The DX3 transmitter's integrated thumb steering option makes it possible to steer one-handed safely and precisely. Both the transmitter and the supplied SR315 3-channel receiver are fully compatible with Spektrum Smart technology. FORWARD-MOUNTED, EASY ACCESS BATTERY TRAY

To access the adjustable battery compartment, simply remove two body clips to release the front hood. The compartment allows ample room to install 2S or 3S LiPo batteries.

4-LINK SUSPENSION

The suspension geometry uses a 4-link design which is optimized to reduce axle steer and to provide the proper anti-squat and roll characteristics. The 4-link system also aids against suspension wrap-up in high-power applications.

YETI STYLE TRANSMISSION (2-SPEED READY)

With all-metal internal gears, the full bearing transmission endures the harshest rock racing environments. The factory gearbox comes as a single speed, with the high gear installed. The integrated motor mount allows endless gearing options. The dual slipper uses a pad on each side of the spur gear for added surface area and more precise tuning and holding power. The spur gear features strong, 32-pitch gearing for high-torque applications. An optional two-speed transmission component is sold separately (AX31181).

ADJUSTABLE ALUMINUM SHOCKS

The included aluminum King/Fox shocks feature precision-machined pistons which offer smooth performance throughout the range of travel. Made to tight tolerances, these aluminum shocks feature clear-coated, polished aluminum bodies and are threaded for quick ride height adjustments and pre-load tuning ability. The rear shocks are mounted on the links rather than at the axle, allowing for more suspension travel and better high-speed handling.

REALISTIC OFF-ROAD TIRES

Both Bomber versions include tires that capture the aggressive looks and remarkable performance of popular full-size off-road racing treads. MULTIPLE MOUNTING POINTS FOR SHOCKS AND LINKS

Axial includes a variety of shock mounting points for running dual shock setups and for additional suspension tuning options. On the skid plate you'll find two front and three rear upper link mounting positions. A sway bar mount is connected to the cage under the fuel cell for additional rear suspension tuning. An optional sway bar is sold separately (AX1331).

EASY ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS

All electronics are routed and part of the skid plate assembly. Simply drop the skid plate and remove the shocks at the chassis to access the electronic components.

SCALE DETAILS

Realistic scale details include a polycarbonate interior tray with molded driver figures and dashboard; three pairs of black styrene helmets (motorsport, open skull-face, and motocross); scale molded shock reservoirs; fuel cell; and RR10-licensed Bomber Fabrication scale tube chassis.

WB8 HD DRIVESHAFTS

The WB8 HD driveshafts feature an updated design with a larger diameter cross pin (2x11mm) along with an M4 Screw Shaft (2mm hex drive) for added strength. A center splined slider floats between each end and features added material which reduces flex and fatigue.

LED LIGHTS

LED lights are another new addition to the Bomber rig for wheeling after the sun sets. There are four white LEDs on the front, two forward-facing on the light bar and two on the rock lights. The new rear racing-style light bar includes two red LEDs.

Answer:	I am not sure of the weight. This is my first crawler and I didn't put any thought into that. So far I have put an RZXYL servo relocator in and that fit as it should and accepted the bumper in the picture just fine. I also put in an RCLions Carbon Fiber Battery Holder/ESC Relocation Mount for scx10 ii and that was no problem as well and lowered the center of gravity a bit. Its pretty high up in its stock location on this chassis and that kit also keeps the weight up front. The only thing I have modified are the body mounts. Everything else has fit without modification.
