Answer:	I am not sure about that but with enough duct tape, screws, epoxy, and good old American ingenuity, anything is possible! Seriously though, i know there are multiple screw holes in the base plate, but whether or not they will line up to your Porter cable jig, i am not entirely sure. I do know this is a great router, its the first one I have owned, but not the first I have used. Plenty of power for bigger bits and smooth precise adjustments, easy to handle and manipulate. I prefer the buy 1/2" shank myself especially in larger bits, they are a little more expensive but seem to run better and last longer. When it comes to brands of router bit Freud is always the first place I shop. I have also had really good success with CMT and Bosch because my local big box store doesn't carry Freud. One thing I will saw about router bits is its always better to buy quality bits they will last for years and produce better results. Amazon has some nice bits sets that come with a lot of common bits that are nice for a person new to the router.

Question:	Is there an important difference between this table, and the Bosch RA
Answer:	The main difference is the cabinet which helps cut the dust down. The table top of this unit is laminated MDF which is not as durable as the metal top of the RA1181, however the plastic legs on the RA1181 are certainly not going to be as durable as the cabinet on this unit. I should also point out that while the table is made of MDF, the router plate is made of metal. Since that is where all the action is taking place, I fully expect this unit to last many many years. This unit has 2 dust ports, one behind the router bit and another in the cabinet itself. This really helps keep the dust down. the RA1181 will likely make a much bigger mess as all the stuff flies out of the bottom. The cabinet also serves as a handy place to store all the little goodies like feather boards, knobs, and whatnot. I have this unit and considered the RA1181 for a little while. I am 100% happy with the cabinet design and would certainly get it again. The only problem I have is that neither table comes with a miter guage. I added the POWERTEC 71005 guage to my table and it's awesome! It has a sturdy all-metal design and is a perfect fit for the miter slot in the table. Whichever table you get, I strongly suggest adding a miter guage

Question:	I would like a suggestion for a plate to mount this to please? I intend to make my own router table top and would like to attach this to a plate
Answer:	Mine is mounted to a custom 3/8 plexiglass plate With the handles removed, I was able to give my baseplate a small footprint (7x7). Plexiglass made it easy to see where I needed to drill for the hex lift opening.Someone suggested 1/4 plexiglass, which I think *might* flex slightly under the weight of this router. Several years ago I used 1/4 plexiglass on another router and got that result -- HOWEVER, it may be worth a shot. With the smaller 7x7 footprint, there may be no flex.
Question:	CanI use this RA 1165 Base with my Porter
Answer:	Nope. The mounting pattern is the same. The 10-24 screws are the same. The motor diameter is the same. However, there are three issues. 1) there is a pin in the base for which there is no slot in Porter Cable motor the motor won't slide past. 2) there are pins on the Porter Cable motor that do not slide past the 'bottom' opening of the base (they do slide in the 'top', so apparently the bottom is tapered and, even if you file pins or whatever... 3) the height adjustment mechanism on the base goes into one of 3 notches in the Bosch router motor. The Porter Cable motor does not have those notches and so the height adjustment purpose is lost

Answer:	Not that I saw. Be careful mine came without a fence which I've had to make a couple of calls to get and not received it yet waiting 3 weeks. Listed routers are Bosch 1 and 1.5 hp, Makita, Porter Cable and Dewalt best bet call customer service, good luck.
Question:	Is it Compatible to Makita trim router rt
Answer:	Their technical documents show an RT0701C being used in the table, which I believe is identical to the rt0700, but I’m not positive the mount holes are spaced the same. Don’t know why they would not be, so I’d feel comfortable saying it is compatible.
Question:	Is tear out a problem with this jig
Answer:	It’s not really a jig as much as it is a fully functional, albeit, small router table. However, just like with any router, if you put a sacrificial piece behind the project piece tear out is virtually eliminated.
