Question:	Can these be used to sharpen knives
Answer:	Course is basically for tools (axe, shovel, etc). Medium and fine for knives. Mediums wear down the fastest, but you definitely need to use the fine to get it paper-slicing sharp. When i restock I buy a multipack and a medium pack. I've tried a couple of off brands and while they are much less expensive and they mostly work, you really need the 6000 grit fine to put a polish on it to get razor sharp. I am using those ones up on things that don't need to be as sharp as kitchen, pocket, or hunting knives. Unless you can find the exact grits as these, just stick with the name brand..
Question:	What sfpm should these belts run at
Answer:	Not at all works great! I'm a Millwright by trade and I've put this grinder through its paces never had a problem hope this helps

Question:	I have a craftsman band saw that takes 80 inch sanding belts. Could this be cut down to about 1 inch wide and used on it
Answer:	I sharpened approx. 14 knives various sizes initially, course and medium belts still in good shape went thru 85% of a fine belt so yes the fine will wear out quicker than the other grits but once sharp not bad wear on the maintenance touch ups.
Question:	How many belts per box - 4? So if there are 2 packs, do I get
Answer:	The most common mistake I've found in people learning to sharpen a knife on any kind of belt system is that, while they correctly roll the knife to follow the curve of the blade, they KEEP rolling it as they reach the tip and that is what rounds it. The video hints at this by telling you to "stop the belt when you reach the tip", but really that is very hard to do. Practice, instead, watching the tip and pull the knife straight out just as you reach it. With practice, you will actually sharpen the tip instead of rounding it. Good Luck. Sharpening a knife is a skill and one that you don't acquire by sharpening one or two knives. Take an old knife, sharpen it.... then dull the blade on a coarse belt.... rinse and repeat... many times. All of a sudden you'll get it right and then the skill is yours.

Answer:	I use these for the grinding of the knives not sharpening. For sharpening I use tri-zac belts followed by stones.
