User questions & answers
Question: | Is this item just the bulb? Or is this the actual lamp including the bulb |
Answer: | This is just the bulb. |
Question: | I have a 36x18x18 inch aquarium. How many inches need to be between a bearded dragon and this light? Don't want the bearded dragon to get to much uvb |
Answer: | I have the same size aquarium and I have a Beardie. This works great for me and my vet and local exotic pet store said it's a good fit. Make sure it is only blocked by a mesh screen not glass or plastic. |
Question: | What's the difference between 5.0 and 10.0 T5's |
Answer: | The manufacturers tell you that 5.0 indicates that 5% of the light is UVB The same with the 10.0 10% of the transmitted light is actually UVB They use a special blend of phosphorus... the white coating on the glass The greater the coating the less UVB passes through.... Using expensive measuring tools we can also measure the UVB output.. At a normal distance of 12 inch the 5.0 will produce 100 microwatts of UVB At the same distance the 10.0 will produce 200 microwatts of UVB All of this is due to the very efficient technology using a chrome reflector maximizing the UVB and directing it down to the enclosure and the reptile |
Question: | Is this for the 24 inch hood |
Answer: | Yes |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you use this on a dimmer |
Answer: | Me personally would not use this bulb on a dimmer the 75 watts the bulb is rated at was required to heat the surface for the reptile. |
Question: | Could it be used in 220 voltage |
Answer: | No. It's for use in standard 110V house wiring. |
Question: | can this be used for red eyed tree frogs |
Answer: | I just answered you but was thinking it was the uvb bulb I bought. The basking light depends on the temps you need. These also shatter very easy of the come in contact with moisture. Assuming you're frogs are in a very humid enclosure, I wouldn't use this bulb. |
Question: | My 75 Watt bulb is 15 inches above the basking platform for my turtle and temp registers 110F that is crazy! Is that normal |
Answer: | That is way too high for a turtle. Your ideal water temp should be in the mid 70's-low 80's, with a basking temp about 10 degrees higher than that. 93-95 should be your max basking temp. 110 is cooking your turtle! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this Tiny bulb good enough for my 55gallon for a bearded dragon? It’s so much smaller then the ones I used to use |
Answer: | This bulb fits my 10 gallon tank, but you might want to get a bigger one for your 55 gallon tank. |
Question: | Are these suppose to be so dim? our other brand of uvb light is brighter |
Answer: | it is the appropriate brightness. I use these but because they don't perfectly fit the dome fixture flush on the top I did hang it. but yeah they are good lights I think |
Question: | is this product suitable for a ten gallon anole cage or is it too strong |
Answer: | It would be fine as this bulb is not designed to provide heat, just the proper UV spectrum. |
Question: | How long are the bulbs |
Answer: | The whole unit is 5 1/4 inches. The bulbs are 2 1/2, and the base with screw is 2 3/4 inches. The screw alone is 1 1/4 inches. |
