Answer:	Yes the 250 watt heat bulb will fit with a 1/4 inch clearance around the perimiter of the bulb and wire cage. The curved end of the bulb does go past the out side ring of cage about 5/8 inch at the center.

Answer:	I would say yes; they run cooler than standard blubs. Heat build-up is the only problem with this type of reflector housing. These are rated for a 150 watt incandescent; which get very hot. I use 100 watt florescent bulbs in the two I have with no problem.

Answer:	I have used one for many years to keep chicks warm. Use a 75 or 100 watt bulb, if rated for 100 watts, and keep the lamp down low. As the chicks grow, raise the lamp and reduce the wattage. Be sure to use an incandescent bulb because LED bulbs do not emit enough heat to warm the chicks. Do not use a heat lamp bulb unless you use a fireproof (metal) brooder and have the light about 3 feet away, according to the lamp's guidelines. Also you must have a ceramic socket, not a plastic one. I do not use a heat lamp bulb on any chicks, but then I live in the South where it is beginning to get warm in March/April. If you live in the cold North, then I can't give you an answer.

Answer:	The reflector is made of aluminum. It is very thin and prone to damage--if you drop this you will dent it.

Answer:	Yes, I use it just plugged into the standard USA outlet in the wall and have used both the TheraBulb NIR-A Near Infrared Bulb - 250 Watt that mention its designed to emit optimal NIR healing wavelengths of 700 to 1200 nanometers. I've also tried successfully with the cheaper Philips Heat Lamp R40 Flood Light Bulb: 250-Watt which is also a infrared bulb.
Question:	Would this be safe to put inside a doghouse
Answer:	I would say no. I use it with infrared bulbs for the light therapy and I don't find these to be very good at all. The clamps do not work well like to dangle and hang. I am not able to direct them where I want because the clips are lousy, but even if they worked well I'm not sure this'll be a good set up for doghouse - in my opinion. I'm not sure it would be safe. The dog could still touch the light and get burnt.

Answer:	I think it will. It emits infrared heat but from elements rather than a bulb. They come in several different sizes so, depending on how cold it gets in your area, you can use a high wattage or low wattage. I live in Colorado and use it in my chicken coop. I use the large one and it cranks out about the same amount of heat that the bulb does. The only glitch is you don't know if it's working or not but I have had mine for a couple years with no problems. Of course, I only use it in the winter but I used to go through several bulbs each winter.

Answer:	I dont think I read that. We use these at our animal rescue. We turn them on low and put a light blanket on top or you can leave that off.

Answer:	Without the size and the type of walls, can even start to give you an answer. All I know is that I was expecting more heat from the 150 watt that I brought. I am using two 150 watt bulbs in a 6 ft x 8 ft green house. The bulbs go on around 35 deg F, and turns off at around 40 deg F. I do not believe the two 150 watt units and 1 100 watt light bulb can keep the temp over 32 deg F.

Answer:	Yes, it can be used in a small coop, that’s how I used it. I also had a temperature gauge to ensure the temperature was accurate, consistent and appropriate for the chicks during their growth process. I liked the ceramic heat lamp because it didn’t produce light at night time. I noticed the chicks slept through the night thoroughly, which I felt was really important. Our chicks are now at nine weeks, outside and doing really well. I may use the heat lamp again this winter in their outside coop if we get some severe cold. Hope this helps.

Answer:	From a distance of 12 inches you will have about an 11 inch radius area hovering at about 90°. The farther away the less heat, and the closer the more heat, etc. I have two over a 75 gallon tank and they do great. Make sure you know what temperatures your creature should be at and always remember they don’t have to be perfect. Reptiles especially can adapt to many environments so the best thing to do is make sure that you keep it consistent! Good luck, and provide the best home you possibly can for your creatures!!
