Answer:	I came home and my filter was not running. I have had this for a month and it was running great. I cleaned out the filter, etc. and cannot get it to prime. I feel like I have tried everything! I filled the canister with water and it will not prime. When using the prime button, the water goes up to a certain point but does not prime.. Help!

Answer:	What the others said. Personally I would get the largest you can afford. More filtration is never a bad thing. The 1200 and 1500 use the same filter pads.
Question:	Will filter work for a 100 gallon tank for my red ear slider turtle
Answer:	Yes. I use this for my CST in a 55 gallon tank. This is a great filter. Remember, it is more about the media you use than the filter alone. Experiment with media to see what works best for you. For my turtle, I have found that layering sponges in the bottom tray from coarse, medium to fine and then using Matrix bio media in the next 2 trays and then using carbon and an ammonia neutralizing carbon in the last two trays works wonders. It really keeps my turtle tank clean. This filter is easy to use, prime and clean. Plus it is very affordable. All canister filters are basically equal, the media is what really matters.
Question:	Will this include an installation manual and all the tubings? I am new to canister filters and I want to know as much as possible before purchasing
Answer:	Yes, though you would do well to check out some YouTube videos demonstrating the setup, as well as the steps to take to disconnect the unit from the tubes for cleaning. The manual that comes with the filter is a great start, but a little unclear at times.

Answer:	You definitely want to pre fill the filter before starting it up (if you cant prime it hoses might be mixed up-suction return lines) I would also make sure the return tube is fully submerged at the top of the water. I personally have three 304b filters, one of them gives me issues like yours if the outlet tube isn't covered with water.
Question:	How do i know if my uv light is working? i put the filter together recently but i don't know if the light is turning on
Answer:	There's a little round button nest to the on off switch. It is actually not a bitton so dont press down on it. It is a window that will show when the light inside the filter is on.

Answer:	Unsure what you are asking for here...a Siphon is not included but the pump is self priming, also the inlet/outlet tubes connect with a "toggle" bar which allows you to remove the inlet/outlet from the pump with no mess for cleaning of the pump. Answer:	Any of these canister will work for turtles. My red ear sliders are happy as can be. You just need to clean more often if you are feeding them live food vs. pellets (or if you over feed). I throw a powerhead on the bottom of the opposite side and corner of intake to keep the dead spots clean and water circulating.

2. Leaking: Please make sure all pieces are assembled correct, adjust the o-seal ring on the top lid and put the filter lower than your tank, and make sure water can get through the green hoses soomthly.
3. Loud noise from the motor: You may need to check the impeller on the top lid if there is anything in it, and clean it. And then try it again.
4. Not pump water: Press the blue button on the top lid to compel the extra air out of the canister. And try it again.
5. The flow is slow: Add enough water into the tank, and adjust the cotton and medias.

Answer:	I have two of these filters and I use one in a 55 gallon tank with pea gravel and it works perfectly. The other I use in a 100 gallon indoor pond and the water is crystal clear.
Question:	Can you use this filter for lower water level tanks such as turtle tanks
Answer:	I use this in my 55 gal turtle tank which has about 7" of water in it. I had to tape up the intake pipe joints to reduce air leaks and I had to manually prime the intake line to get it to start but it does work fine once the siphon gets started. I'm going to drill the tank below the water level and convert it to gravity fed because it's a real pain to get started due to the vertical distance the water has to travel to leave the tank.
Question:	Can I use this in a half full tank? I have a 20gallon long breeder tank a little over half full, about 11 or 12 gallons
Answer:	There is plenty of power in the pump but you will have to make some modifications to the fittings in order to extend the height in the tank. I set mine up for turtles and was able to get the water level 5 inches below the rim with the firings provided.
Question:	Can I use this on a 45g reef tank
Answer:	Yes it will work. But canister filters will harbor nitrates if not cleaned every week. A good protein skimmer and good water flow is much better for salt water. I would recommend a hang on back filter just to clear the debris and clarify the water as needed, it doesn't have to run constantly. Canister filters are not needed for reef aquariums. I bought this canister for my freshwater fish tank and it's decent for that.

Answer:	No it doesn't. I haven't found a UV light necessary for my pond setup. It is outdoors, in the middle of the Pacific tropical climate.

Answer:	Water will be clear when you first start it. Depending on what type of marine life you are housing will be how clear the water remains. I have an eastern painted turtle and the tank needs to be cleaned monthly because they are dirty reptiles. I imagine that fish are much cleaner and the tank can be cleaned less frequently. But you still need to do periodic cleanings according to the instructions.

Answer:	To anyone else reading these response: 1 - The filter does not self prime, you have to fill it with water through the priming port on the top of the housing. 2 - To the original question this is exactly how I run it without the CO2 in atomizer. Not sure how that would impact the flow. But I run a Hydor 200W heater in line and the filter is ~ 3ft below the water line. I didn't want a fast flow and I had to put a valve on the output to slow it down. Should have no problem with flow on a 10G tank.

Answer:	Take the pump to Lowe's are any hardware store... What you looking for is a plug that has a bolt in the middle of it. If you ask the hardware store they will know what you want. Just make sure you take the pump.
Question:	Does this filter include long hoses so that it can be mounted under the tank (in the base of the tank)? Or is it designed to "hang on the back of the tank only
Answer:	No. only 2 short 24" hoses. Get some 1/2" ID 5/8" OD vinyl tubing. It fits. I put some on today but need to get some elbow joints. They do not give part to make a U over the top of the tank so I am going to have to build one myself. The canister itself is just under 9 inches tall but allow several inches to bend the tubes backwards an run them up the back of the tank. The pump itself can handle over two feet, I think mine is closer to 3 feet of lift and is only half open.

Answer:	Daniel:Gallon per hour flow rate is a measure of how much water goes through the filter every hour. You ideally want to circulater the water in your tank about 6-8 times per hour. So, if you have a 10G tank, you want a flow rate of about 60-80 GPH. The Finnex is advertised at about 95GPH.Unfortunately, most manufacturer's rating are hard to understand. Sometimes they are measured without any filter media, so the filter is just circulating water, but not filtering anything. Others measure their flow rates more realistically. So beware of relying on manufacturer's numbers.....The Finnex is suitable for 5-10G tanks. Some people say it will work for 20G tanks, but I think this will only work if the tank is lightly stocked.Hope this helps.Gautam Bose

Answer:	There should not be a rattling sound with this filter, unless it has pulled something into the impeller area that needs removing. Marineland Magnum Polishing Internal Canister Filter

The Marineland Magnum Polishing Internal Canister Filter uses two refillable chambers to house carbon or customizable filter media. The Magnum PI Canister Filter is the most versatile filter Marineland has to offer. Three Stage Filtration and Water Polishing

Mechanical Filtration: The Rite-Size floss sleeve traps dirt and debris. For the best results, rinse or replace sleeve monthly.

Chemical Filtration: Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon removes odors, discoloration and water impurities. It is recommended that carbon is replaced monthly since carbon de-activates with use.

Biological Filtration: The dual-chamber design provides a large surface area of 153 square inches for the growth of Bio Spira, a beneficial bacterium that neutralizes ammonia and nitrites.

Water Polishing: The reusable pleated micron cartridge efficiently removes fine debris, leaving water crystal clear. The cartridge may be Charged with diatomaceous earth to further increase efficiency.

Set Up For Continuous 3 Stage Filtration

1. Place the foam gasket inside the canister and shake the canister body to properly orient the gasket. Set aside.

2. Locate the internal media container: If you wish to use alternate filter media than the included carbon, the media separator inside the container may be moved, to adjust the size of the two internal media chambers. To adjust the media separator position, unscrew both lids from the media container, and unsnap the two halves of the container. Reposition or remove the media separator, and snap the halves of the media container back together.

3. When using the included Black Diamond Premium Carbon carefully pour into the media container. Tip: To minimize mess, perform this step over a bucket, outside, or over a sink.

5. Rinse the filled media container under tap water until water runs clear.

Answer:	Quite? don't even think about it. it gets louder and noisier at night times. normally, an under 30 [db(A)] sound lever is a safe and acceptable lever, but this one will make about 36-38 [db(A)] sound lever in the night. especially in the bedroom (away about 18 feet from the bed), you will need a sleeping pill to put you to sleep. I had one, but after 2weeks, I can't bear with it anymore longer, had to return it.
Question:	I have a 40 gallon tank for two read eared sliders. Would this filter be too strong or just right for my tank? Also, does it come with the hosing
Answer:	I've got it on a 55 gallon and it works fine! With turtles you want at least 3 times the filtration so 40 gallons of water needs a 160 gallon rated filter or stronger. Also it is recommended that you house your turtles separately as they are going to grow to be 8-12 inches long and are solitary in the wild! I recommend you join red ear slider turtle owners resto group on Facebook and they will have all the information on best diet best filters and best tanks for your turtles!
Question:	What do you have to replace for the filter media? And how often I don't believe what the company says about every month
Answer:	This is a very good filter, with "5" stages. The main foam padding, stage 1 and 2, can be rinsed out and reused about 3 times before it starts to get too worn. I rinse it in the water just pulled out of the tank to keep from killing the beneficial bacteria with tap water which contains chlorine. The soft portion of this foam pad does not hold up to even gentle squeezing out. I just rinse out the tiny filter pad, stage 3, at the top of the unit and have not replaced it yet. This thing is pretty durable and surprisingly expensive for what it is. Stage 4, the bio-media should not be replace unless they get damaged. Replacing the carbon media, stage 5, is a matter of choice. Many do not believe in it. I do. If you do use carbon media, remember it gets "full" rather quickly and should be replaced regularly, depending on the kind and amount of fish in your tank, it could last up to a month. Just think of the Brita filters. They are mainly carbon filters, and they make water taste yummy and free of junk. If you are really trying to save, you can buy loose activated carbon and make your own sachets with cheese cloth or those fill-your-own teabags. I've thought about doing that but have not tried it. I've been too lazy, and just purchased the carbon media bags, I believe they are about 8 bucks for 3. Hope that helps.
Question:	The Amazon description mentions "Ceramic heater core for even and efficient heat distribution". Does this have a built in heater
Answer:	The Fluval c2 power filter advertises that it has a ceramic heater core... unless its built in somewhere inside, its not visable period. so with that said, i still had my glass tube style heater and continue to use it with the power filter as i doubt that something i can not even see will heat the 20 gallon long tank enough for that fish i have.

Answer:	It worked on my 125 aquarium. I also had a corner sponge filter as well. If your worried go to the next level higher but at 375 gallons you have more than enough. This is also the same unit as the aquatop uv400 but this is the chinese branded.

Answer:	It’s a well made product and I’m sure it couldn’t withstand a bit of outdoor exposure. I’d say as long as the plug is not submerged I’d give it a shot for sure.

Answer:	There the old style. About 3 feet of rubber hose, then the half loop hard line, to the spray bar on the out take, and basic filter intake tube.
