Question:	Is this filter effective for turtles
Answer:	In order to use this filter for a turtle aquarium, your water level must stay ABOVE the minimum water level line at all times, which means it needs to be within 3-4 inches of the top of the tank. This is a problem with most turtle tanks unless you have a Turtle Topper. Otherwise, it will work well for a turtle tank.
Question:	Could you add a sponge filter to the intake so it becomes Fry friendly
Answer:	Yes, you sure could! You could use sponge media or filter floss. Just be sure to clean or replace it whenever it becomes clogged.
Question:	Does it have a warranty
Answer:	Yes, it comes with a 3 year warranty on all manufacturer's defects. This does not include normal wear and tear or abuse, of course, but Tetra has a very liberal warranty policy. If you need warranty help, call 1-800-526-0650.
Question:	does this come with biobag and carbon filters or do u have to buy some
Answer:	Your initial purchase of the filter includes the Whisper Bio Bags ( 1 of them for the models 20, 30 and 45, 2 for the 70) and the Bio Scrubbers (again, 1 for the 20, 30, 45 models and 2 for the 70). You should replace your cartridges on a monthly basis, but can rinse them in between changes. The Bio Scrubbers should literally last forever, unless you lose them or damage them somehow. Wash these off in a bucket of tank water with a toothbrush.

Can be used in turtle tanks

Step 1

Remove all packaging and attach strainer (and extension tubes, if necessary) so that strainer will be no closer than 2" to aquarium gravel once the system is hanging on aquarium frame.

Step 2

Hang system on aquarium frame. Be sure aquarium water is at or above the minimum water level indicated on system's motor assembly.

Step 3

Once system is properly in place, plug filtration system into outlet being sure to average a drip loop with the power cord.

Answer:	I can't take it anymore. I had to remove the bio wheel. The noise is not bubbles, not impeller, it is the wheel spraying water due to centrifugal force. Remove it... silent. I replaced my 20 year old Penguin 200 with the new one and HATE IT. 100% REGRET. ZERO STARS.

Answer:	it would. Because the fish has to sleep. Unless you have a bigger tank, it will be sucked in when they fell asleep even if she is strong to swim away while awake. I would cover the water intake with filter mesh or unwanted nylon silk stockings

I got both from Amazon: filter $11.89; 12 cartridges $12.28. These filters last a long time, can be cleaned and reused. For my purpose, this filter has been great.

Question:	Would the Finnex PX-360 be able to handle ~12" below the tank top and, in addition, host an in-line Hydor 200W heater and in-line DO!Aqua CO2 atomizer without lowering flow rate too much
Answer:	To anyone else reading these response: 1 - The filter does not self prime, you have to fill it with water through the priming port on the top of the housing. 2 - To the original question this is exactly how I run it without the CO2 in atomizer. Not sure how that would impact the flow. But I run a Hydor 200W heater in line and the filter is ~ 3ft below the water line. I didn't want a fast flow and I had to put a valve on the output to slow it down. Should have no problem with flow on a 10G tank.

Answer:	Take the pump to Lowe's are any hardware store... What you looking for is a plug that has a bolt in the middle of it. If you ask the hardware store they will know what you want. Just make sure you take the pump.
Question:	Does this filter include long hoses so that it can be mounted under the tank (in the base of the tank)? Or is it designed to "hang on the back of the tank only
Answer:	No. only 2 short 24" hoses. Get some 1/2" ID 5/8" OD vinyl tubing. It fits. I put some on today but need to get some elbow joints. They do not give part to make a U over the top of the tank so I am going to have to build one myself. The canister itself is just under 9 inches tall but allow several inches to bend the tubes backwards an run them up the back of the tank. The pump itself can handle over two feet, I think mine is closer to 3 feet of lift and is only half open.
Question:	what is outlet gallon-per-hour flow rate
Answer:	Daniel:Gallon per hour flow rate is a measure of how much water goes through the filter every hour. You ideally want to circulater the water in your tank about 6-8 times per hour. So, if you have a 10G tank, you want a flow rate of about 60-80 GPH. The Finnex is advertised at about 95GPH.Unfortunately, most manufacturer's rating are hard to understand. Sometimes they are measured without any filter media, so the filter is just circulating water, but not filtering anything. Others measure their flow rates more realistically. So beware of relying on manufacturer's numbers.....The Finnex is suitable for 5-10G tanks. Some people say it will work for 20G tanks, but I think this will only work if the tank is lightly stocked.Hope this helps.Gautam Bose

Question:	Is it really loud? I already had to get rid of one filter brand because it was so noisy
Answer:	As long as you maintain your filter properly, the filter remains reasonably quiet. You do not need to change the impeller as often as one person commented. I have multiple AC 110’s for years and never had to replace the impeller at all. I have been using AquaClear filters for many years. When you maintain your filter, rinse the impeller off. Do not use anything abrasive or it will compromise its proper function by throwing it off balance as it spins during operation.
Question:	Will the 110 fit on over the 1-1/4" tank edge of my 70 gal tank
Answer:	13 1/2"L X 6 3/4"W X 9"H with 4" of its width behind the tank.
Question:	do you need to replace the filter media in time, and if so, how expensive is the whole kit
Answer:	Doesn't anybody read instructions? Change carbon filter after 1 month, change sponge after 2 months, change biofilter (little ceramic donuts) after 3 months. Never change more than one filter at a time which is impossible if you read their system - so at least 2 out of 3 times a month you'd be changing 2 filters. Charcoal filters should be changed monthly - they should also be removed if you are adding medication to the tank or it will soak up/deactivate medications. Personally I think you clean the sponge very well as needed - NO soap- just clean water, same with the donuts. Perhaps having you change so many filters so often is quite the moneymaking deal but not good for fish.
Question:	Would the 110 be overkill for a 36 gal goldfish tank? Would the 100 work just as well
Answer:	I run (2) 110's on a 90 gallon tank of exotic goldfish. That means I'm running 1000 gallons an hour through the filters on high. I've raised exotic goldfish for 50 years - goldfish are the DIRTIEST fish there are. They produce more ammonia than any other fish. These filters work great. I have some mini's - now called the 20's - which I have had for 35 + years, and they still run as well as the day I bought them. I ONLY USE AquaClear. Best filter out there! They last forever because there are no moving parts to break. There is only a magnetic impeller. In 50 years, I've only had to replace one intake tube that broke, and it was my fault! I tried a canister filter once, and quickly went back to my Hagen AquaClears. Easier to use, and as big as they are, you can use any kind of media in them that you want to use. You cannot go overkill on filtration for goldfish.

Answer:	Just buy one of those 7 and 1/2 in simple multi color blue LED they sell here it looks like a clear cigar tube and there is a strip of lights in them and you even get a remote control with it for multiple colors so that a limited eliminates the need to put something up on the hood with ceiling that which that's a good idea by the way that guy had a good idea but what I'm talkin about I think they're twelve bucks I think it's made by simple and I bought several of them here it looks like a little clear cigar tube with suction cups and it's submersible and it comes with the RGB remote

Answer:	Hi. There is no lid on the top of the aquarium and the filter sits on the right hand side. It's a nice filter does a great job. We clean it once a week and replace the charcoal bag once a month. The yearly cost for the filters is about 11.99. It has a nice waterfall effect to it. Question:	If I have a 72 gallon bow front tank, would these work good enough if I bought two to keep the tank clear
Answer:	I would suggest a stronger filter than aquatech, which works for smaller variety up to 60 g. You should go for aquaclear 70 or 110, they are great but are costly. I always aim for higher recommended capacity, for example for a 10 g, I would buy a filter for 20g. They are better for the long run. It's also based on your fish if they prefer low or high flow, aquaclear lets you control the flow and has three stages of filtration, which is why I like it, but aquatech is a good starter option I've had it for a couple years and I mean it does its job.

Question:	yesterday i cleaned out my filter and i put it back on but it wont suck in water from the pipe there is no pressure even after i pump it. why
Answer:	I came home and my filter was not running. I have had this for a month and it was running great. I cleaned out the filter, etc. and cannot get it to prime. I feel like I have tried everything! I filled the canister with water and it will not prime. When using the prime button, the water goes up to a certain point but does not prime.. Help!
Question:	What is the difference between the 1000, 1200, and
Answer:	What the others said. Personally I would get the largest you can afford. More filtration is never a bad thing. The 1200 and 1500 use the same filter pads.
Question:	Will filter work for a 100 gallon tank for my red ear slider turtle
Answer:	Yes. I use this for my CST in a 55 gallon tank. This is a great filter. Remember, it is more about the media you use than the filter alone. Experiment with media to see what works best for you. For my turtle, I have found that layering sponges in the bottom tray from coarse, medium to fine and then using Matrix bio media in the next 2 trays and then using carbon and an ammonia neutralizing carbon in the last two trays works wonders. It really keeps my turtle tank clean. This filter is easy to use, prime and clean. Plus it is very affordable. All canister filters are basically equal, the media is what really matters.
Question:	Will this include an installation manual and all the tubings? I am new to canister filters and I want to know as much as possible before purchasing
Answer:	Yes, though you would do well to check out some YouTube videos demonstrating the setup, as well as the steps to take to disconnect the unit from the tubes for cleaning. The manual that comes with the filter is a great start, but a little unclear at times.

Question:	How high does a cabinet need to be for this filter (with the hoses attached)? I jave an 18" high cabinet. Will this fit
Answer:	Yes, any kind of filter media will work well with this. The canister has two partitions, one for the sponge which covers the intake pipe and another one for filter media. I filled mine with ceramic rings and am not using the carbon bag at all.
Question:	with a supply pump of 800gph can the filter function without the internal pum
Answer:	There are two sliding parts with orange rimmed "buttons" on either side of the top. Press the orange buttons on and slide the mobile parts in opposite directions. There is a really good YouTube video from Zoo Med that shows how to open and set up the filter.
Question:	In what order does the media go inside this filter
Answer:	ID looks like 5/16 OD 7/16 or about ID 8 mm OD 12 - length is 20 inchs
Question:	Can the flow be adjusted
Answer:	Yes. It comes with tubes. The 2 tubes are 10 7/8″ long with a diameter of 3/8″; the 2 hoses are 2′ long with a diameter of 3/8″.

Questions and Answers:

1. UV light/glass cover broken/doesn't work : if damaged, send us an email and some pictures about it, we will resend you a replacement. If not, rotate the top lid 180 degree, and try it again. Because there is only an inductive part on one side.
2. Missing pieces: We may miss some pieces when packing, please send us an email if any part is missing.
3. Leaking: Please check if the glass cover was broken. If not, make sure all pieces are assembled correct, adjust the o-seal ring on the top lid and put the filter lower than your tank, and make sure water can get through the green hoses soomthly.
4. Loud noise from the motor: You may need to check the impeller on the top lid if there is anything in it, and clean it. And then try it again.
5. Not pump water: Press the blue button on the top lid to compel the extra air out of the canister. And try it again.
6. The flow is slow: Add enough water into the tank, and adjust the cotton and medias.

Answer:	We do not recommend putting any filter media above or below your under gravel filter. A filter media will simply trap debris and clog up over time. It is better to let your under gravel filter be your biological filter and have a mechanical filter to remove the debris floating in the aquarium water. Answer:	Our polishing pad is designed to trap fine particles from the water. It is probably not your best choice, but I am not sure how you were planning on using it. Either our Premium Dual Density filter pad or an aquarium sponge may work better. - Lexi M at Aquatic Experts
Question:	How is the noise level ? have the Aqua clear 110 and its a bit rattly
Answer:	It depends on the fountain I guess. This stuff is real thin, less than a quarter inch thick. For your application, I'd use filter floss to build up to proper thickness, then the micron polishing pad.
