Answer:	I would get 3 or 4 maybe even 5 for your 120 gal. The air stone that comes with it is only about the size of a quarter. I have never tried it on a larger stone but my guess is it will not power anything larger then the stone that comes with it. The power cord that comes with it is only about 2 feet long so plan to run a cord to near the top of your tank. The air line is also about 2-3 feet long. This pump only turns on when the power goes out. The number you buy would also depend on what your stocking levels are too. If you already have a large air system on your tank you could also buy a UPS battery backup. (Price for a decent long lasting one is about $189)Hope that helps you.

Answer:	Living in the Northeast we get some crazy weather. This pump should be used as a back-up. It will turn on when the power goes off as you need to plug it in the outlet next to the tank. And yes it does only work on the batteries...hence a battery back-up pump if you lose power. The electrical plug is a sensor that will sense when the power cuts off. It is very powerful and gets the job done. My fish love to swim in and out of the currents it makes!

Answer:	Hey Kristy, Thanks for your question. The white stuff you're seeing is just dust particles from the filter media. It won't have any negative effect on your tank. Just let it continue to cycle and all of the particles will be picked back up by the filter.

Answer:	I use my PennPlax in a 5 gallon tank with a betta and it works great. I do partial water changes every 2 weeks. Are you asking if it works with a tank that hold 1/2 gallon? (0.5) If so, I would say NO. It is too strong for such a small space. Also, betta's should be kept in a MINIMUM 2.5; but 5 gal. or more is optimal, with heater and filter.

It also drains the batteries while plugged in after a few days. I switched to Nicrew, works great. I hope that Amazon picks up this product and drops Penn Plex. Defective product and worthless warranty. I guess there is no such thing as 100% guarantee anymore.

Answer:	Sometimes if the tubing seems to hard to get on, you can take a knife and put a little slit in one side of the end. That will help it more easily slide over where you want it to go.

Answer:	I do not know if they are internal but no external check valves are visible. I have never had a problem of water filling the tubes when it is off. I use it in a 30 gallon tank.

Answer:	Unfortunately all air pumps get that way. The only way I quieten mine is to put it below in my cabinet. The cheaper they are, the louder they get. There is no No Noise air pump that I've found, but using one in your aquarium keeps your fish healthier, so I got use to the noise of my other ones outside my cabinet!

Answer:	One end has a plug that you pull out if you want air to flow out the other end without a valve control on it. Don't know what disc broke off unless you twisted the top off the plug.

Answer:	The 40/55 comes with four plates. Each plate has two tube attachments. One plate would fill a 12.5". Even if it were a little big you could score it (its plastic) and make it fit.

Answer:	Thank you for your question. This filter has a plastic filter plate which lies under the gravel of the tank. This plate allows water to flow freely under the gravel. Water is drawn through the gravel and cleaned removing bateria and debris. In order for this air filter to work properly you will need an air pump as well as airline tubing. We like the Air Pod Pump B003DHYB52 and B0002563MW for air tubing. We don't have a video at this time but will have one soon.
