Answer:	I'd say so. You need opposable thumbs to remove the lid. I don't know how big your cat is but mine was not strong enough to push it over. I probably still wouldn't leave it in a spot that a cat would have access to. Hope that helps. Also, wrap the light bulb in saran wrap or the water will burn it out.

Question:	The air pump needs to be higher than the water level, what kind of suction cup or holder is optimal to use for this take? And hiding it at same time
Answer:	You may want to consider using an aquarium air check valve (-- search on "aquarium check valve" for examples). This will allow air to be pumped into the tank, yet prevent water from flowing back to the air pump in the event of a power failure or whatever. The pump could then be hidden anywhere outside of the tank.

Question:	what kind of heater would be best for this tank for bettas
Answer:	Note that the response that states that Betas do not need a heater is absolutely incorrect. Betas are a tropical fish, and the optimal water temperature is 76-82 degrees F. Unless you live in a tropical climate and no not have air conditioning, room temperature in most instances will be far too cold, and will make the fish sluggish and prone to illness. Will it live for a couple months, yes. But under the right conditions, it can live years. Currently, I have a Beta in a 1-gal plastic tank (not this one yet, I'm looking to up-size) with a heater designed for Betas that will keep the water temp 10 degrees warmer than the room temp, which accounts for most people keeping their thermostat between 65-70 degrees. However, pay attention to the gallon rating of the heater. This is a 3 gallon tank, and will require a more substantial heater. I have never had any problem sticking the heater directly to the plastic. Think about it, the fish swims right by the heater. It can't get so hot as to melt plastic, or it would super heat the water in that area and cook the fish.
Question:	Can you use the bubbler without the lights
Answer:	Yes. The air stone gets fueled from the air intake which is on a separate electrical lead from the LEDs. Even if you don't use the lights, you still have to wrangle that wire out of the tank. The most difficult thing is keeping the air stone weighted down by the rocks. It came loose and floated up so many times that I stopped using it.
Question:	what size filters for Tetra 3 gallon
Answer:	The half moon tank comes with a small filter. I have 2 half moon tanks, and I love them! I have had mine going on 2 years. The filters will need to be renewed within a year to 1/12 yrs to keep your fish healthy.
Question:	Do you recommend to purchase live plants or silk plants for this tank? Do the live plants make the tank much dirtier
Answer:	I use live plants in all my tanks. Live plants give out oxygen, remove CO2, and depending on the fish they may also snack off of them. I have never had an issue with my live plants making my tanks feel dirty and since I have switched from silk to live I'd had a much higher survival rate with my fish. Just make sure you get hardy plants that can survive with regular indoor lighting or you'll have issues with them living in this tank without making modifications.

Answer:	Plastic!!! Mine arrived cracked from the top and across the bottom. Not too happy with this.

Answer:	Most fish tanks do not come with gravel , decorations , allowing for obvious taste and requirement differences by the end user. This is not a “sad” thing as someone else noted , this allows you to use your imagination ! That’s what this hobby is all about, no ?
Question:	Is this tank big enough for a beta, dwarf frog and snail? Def want the beta if the tank is too small one of the others? Have no clue what I am doing
Answer:	I have discovered that ghost shrimp are a great combination with a betta that add zero bio load. A beta might try to mess with it at first, but it will leave it alone after a day or so. It will help keep your tank clean, and they naturally help the chemical balance of the tank by disposing of... "things". ;) Hope this helps. A snail has zero bio load as well. You only want ONE SNAIL. One... that's it. You don't want to have a million snails in your tank lol. Snails are great because they eat algae. They also come in lots of different shell colors. My wife has a 5 gallon with a large half moon betta (huge at this point), a ghost shrimp (also huge), a snail, and 5 small schooling fish. I can't remember the name of the schooling fish, but they are not tetras or guppys. She deliberately got the little fish because they are faster than the betta, so he can't eat them. Now they live in peace and he has accepted their presence.The shrimp and the snail are no brainers. If you get small fish make sure you get 3-5 in a small tank like this, and make sure you get fish fast enough to get away from the betta. Also make sure the fish don't have large flappy/hanging tails. The betta is very attracted to that stuff and will attack it relentlessly. Don't get less than 3, because small fish (normally schooling) don't like to be alone.
Question:	Which replacement filter cartridge do I buy for this filter system? Also, how often does it need changed
Answer:	Don't buy replacement. Replace filter cartridge resets tank cycle and then kills 🐠. Set your own media stages. I recommend bioballs or fluval on bottom, pillow stuffing, then ammonia sponge pad on top. All can be bought from amazon relatively cheap. Then simply keep your bio media and occasionally rinse them with tank water. Once every 3-6 months I change my sponge pad. 3-6 months I rinse my stuffing with tank water. Once a year I replace stuffing. This has my fish beautiful and happy like little monsters. Be careful where you get advice because sellers are in business to make money and sell more fish when they die

Answer:	I have no idea. I would suggest you check with a fish specialist at a pet store. However I can say that I've been using this for almost a year now and it has wonderfully solved my problem of a stinky fish bowl! I had been blaming the odor on my 2 bunnies but it turns out it was the fishbowl water!

Answer:	Hi! I would stick to stress coat, stress zyme and quick start. Quick start will introduce two strains of beneficial bacteria, this will only introduce one (which will make your nitrite levels rise with no way for it to be converted into nitrate)
Question:	What is the goldfish cleaner? Is it beneficial bacteria
Answer:	it is not bacteria, it is a cleaner that breaks down poop and food debris. I use it weekly (along with the conditioner) and my tank always looks so clean and clear!

Question:	What is the depth of this tank
Answer:	I would guess around 8" with all the rocks and decor in it. The tank itself is 11 1/2" tall.
Question:	Does this tank have a cover or hood of some kind to reduce evaporation nd keep my betta from junping out
Answer:	Yes it has a cover however it has a crescent shaped gap in the front about 3 to 3 1/2 inches long right in the center. I had this on my desk at work and so at night I took a 1/2 of a small paper plate to cover the gap just to make me feel better about my betta not jumping out. I've never had a problem as I keep the water level to where I think he can't get out :-)
Question:	Does the filtration system create too strong of a current for betta fish
Answer:	you can change the current strength on the back of the filter. I set it to medium and my betta has no problem swimming all over
Question:	Never had an aquarium, but considering this 5 gal. How easy and reliable is this kit? Is it true about changing 25% of water once/mo
Answer:	I think it's very easy, and definitely reliable. I bought this kit almost a year ago, and it's still running as well as when I first got it. I'm not an expert, and this is the first tank I've had in over fifteen years. I had no clue what I was doing, but I had it set up, running, and ready to go in no time. The only extra thing I had to buy was a heater and thermometer because I got a Betta fish, and they need warm water. I think the amount of water changes depends on what kind of fish you have, and how many. Right now I have a Betta and two plants, and do a 25-50% water change about every two weeks. It's super easy though because the tank is so small, and there's not a lot of water to change. I bought one of those things that has tubing connected to a cylinder, and siphon the water into a bucket. Then refill with spring water (I used to use tap water and add aquarium water conditioner, but now use spring water because our tap water has ammonia and water conditioner can't get rid of that. I like using spring water because I don't have to try measuring the right amount of water conditioner). If you get an algae eater, like an Otto, you won't have to clean the tank as much. If you do get an Otto, make sure you get at least two because they're happier, and therefore more productive when in groups of two or more. As usual I've gotten a little off subject so here's the bottom line: the tank is very easy to set up, it's very sturdy and reliable, the filter is adjustable, which is a nice feature, you may have to buy a heater and thermometer depending on what fish you get, I don't think it's a good idea to only do a 25% water change per month, but it's ok because water changes are very easy. I was trying to decide between this, and about five others, and I'm very happy and satisfied I chose this one.

Question:	Is the lid cat-proof
Answer:	It must, but I'm not 100% certain. The red led light is always on.
Question:	How loud/quiet is the filter? I work in an office with cubicles and don't want a tank that has a noisy filtration system
Answer:	Where do you live? I live in FL where the average temp of my fish room is 75. I have M200 (200W rated for a 65 gallon tank) on my 75 gallon tanks. If you live in Maine, the average temp is probably 60-65 of your fish room. you will need the M300 ( 300W rated for 80 gallons) or maybe 2 of them to heat the same 75 gallon tank. with that said, I think you will be find with the M100 or M50 will be fine for your 32 gallon tank. just make sure they will fit. when you set it up, put the heater in the tank, let it sit for a day or at least a few hours before you turn it on.. see what temp the tank is, turn the heater on the lowest setting and slowly turn it up to the match the tank temp. let it sit there for a hour or so, then set it to what ever temp you want. Don't trust the dial that states what the temp is, it may be off by 1 or 2 degrees. Be sure to monitor the temp for a few days to make any adjustments. Heaters will not change the temp of the tank instantly, it may take a few hours.
Question:	Where did you put the heater and what kind of heater should I get? Thanks
Answer:	The instructions say: "Wait 30 minutes before connecting to the electrical outlet. This allows the heater to adjust to the aquarium water temperature. Note that it may take up to 12 hours for the eater to attain the water temperature you have selected." That being said, my experience is that it is quite a bit faster than that. Of course, that depends on what temperature the water started at! (i.e., how cold is your room). Please note that thre 50 watt model is rated for 15 gallon MAX. That means if you want wiggle room, you might consider the 100 watt version. Again, however, my experience is that the 50 watt was adequate for my 15gallon. But my house is not cold.
Question:	Do you have to replace the filter block, or the bio rings
Answer:	Yes it can, "Cord and all" (but not the plug) according to the Fluval representitive I spoke to at Fluval customer service. I've had mine completely submerged ever since and havnt had any problems. Just remember not to keep it on if you have to empty tank water behond the bottom line.

Answer:	The flakes do work well. Of course they float, but it keeps the flakes in order. I use flakes also.
Question:	Whats the blue small towel for? That csme with the feeding rings
Answer:	Might be for cleaning. They don't work for me anyway.

Answer:	I have a goldfish. I feed it Tetra brand crisps. They float. My fish usually eats them all before they get water-logged and sink.
Question:	Is this too big for a one gallon tank
Answer:	Mine only came with one feeding Circle, although I did think it was coming with two whenever I purchased it. With the 1 gallon tank , it's not necessarily going to hurt anything, it'll just take up a lot more of the surface area than if you had a bigger tank. But I'd personally look for a smaller one for a 1 gallon.

Question:	I love this tank but mine is leaking water from the back of the tank where everythihng is attached. Does anyone have any ideas
Answer:	Make sure your filter is lowered down so the top of it is below the top edge of the bowl. Check the cartridge and open the little motor on the bottom to pull out the impeller. Either of these or both of them can be clogged and cause this issue if the filter is above the edge of the bowl. For more assistance, email [email protected].
Question:	How big is the opening? I have a cat and will need to figure out a lid situation
Answer:	6 and 1/2" circular bowl, however there is a light with a spigot with water flowing so that allows a 2 and 1/2" opening. The cat could still get her paw in there.

Answer:	All of what other people are saying is very true, but the main reason this is a horrible place for a goldfish is because it is way too small! Goldfish need 20 gallons minimum per goldfish, and often require 40 gallons per goldfish by adulthood. They get huge and need tons of space :)
