Question: will these work in the Kong toy
Answer: The treat is about 1/2 in in diameter and they are hard but crunchable so depends on the size of your kong. In a small kong you probably don't need to add anything else but if using a larger kong I would suggest stuffing along with some peanut butter so they don't just fall out. Once the dog licks them enough they will soften and the dog can eat them. All depends on how hard you want your dog to work for the treat. My pups love the doggie paws.
Question: Without preservatives, at what point would they "go bad" for it to be unhealthy to eat, or can we feeeze some of the boxes for several months storage
Answer: I bought a case the first part of 2017 and they don't expire until 2019 - you should be fine. I put them in plastic containers once I open the box.

Answer: These are my dachshund’s favorite treats! There are tons per box - they’re maybe somewhere just a bit bigger than a nickel and just shy of the size of a quarter. I dump the box into a Lixit treat storage container (not the small one - the next size which is just right) and it keeps them fresh. The Maple & Bacon is his fave flavor (and mine - I take a deep whiff of the container every time I open it and it’s heaven) but he likes the Peanut Butter and Molasses, too, and they also smell delish. I can usually only find the Pumpkin in fall. He gets 2 per treat and probably eats 6-8 of any given flavor per week and they last for months. I actually end up tossing them and buying new boxes every couple of months even though I keep them in a fairly tight sealing container so he can have fresh ones. I’d say Leonard’s guess is probably close.

Answer: The picture of the tub clearly shows "Produced in Buffalo, New York, USA", with stars and stripes. Unfortunately, law allows items that have a majority percent of the product made in USA, to still be labeled "Made in USA" (51% USA, 49% China, for example). Don't quote me on those percentages though, I'm not a lawyer, it's just an example. Where a product is made is not MY number one concern, I put trust in the company and value of the product above country of origin. In the past, I've bought US made products online from no-name companies that turned out to be complete crap. On the other hand, 100% of Apple's products are made 100% in China, yet Apple remains one of America's top brands. I wonder how many people answering/commenting on this question own an "I something or other"? I don't- and never will, unless Apple lowers their prices to align with other top brands that sell 100% China made products like Samsung, Dell, Kindle, etc.

The box also lists The Nutro Company at Franklin, TN. I want to mention that aside from English, there is also writing that I think is in the French language, not sure why. My doggy loves these snacks, I hope they are not made anywhere near China. I stopped a lot of my puggle snacks because of the news that China was tainting snacks and pet food with melamine.
