Answer:	If the snow becomes impacted and the animals can walk over the spot where the wire is placed beyond the range of the signal (mine is on a fence, 1 foot off the ground, but in most applications it is buried), the range of the signal that activates the collar can be increased. The signal itself will have no problem penetrating the snow--we are in the lake effect band area of Indiana and it has worked through the winter even with lots of snow on the ground.

It has happened enough that my dog is now scared to go into the yard at all. Customer service was no help at all. Save your money and buy a better brand. When the unit is working like it should, the distance can be set by a dial on the transmitter, anywhere from about 1 foot to 6 feet.

Answer:	I have this although I have not used it yet due to snow. It is similar to the Hartz model in voltage. It is not a steady current. I have 4 small dogs 7-10 pounds. All touched the line they yelped. I held the line and it surely tingles didn't hurt. One however did get stuck on it however still not sure and it left a wound not bad but a mark nonetheless. They did learn to stay away from it after three or so zaps. It is not strong like for large animals but I would supervise your dogs to be certain nothing bad happens until they learn to keep away.

I was working with reflective samples, so maybe would have a little more leeway with non-reflective. You might be better off with a larger box for cowboy boots though.

Partial answer: 1) The light strips attach to the inside with magnets, so if they go out, they can be removed and replaced with other lights. 2) Does this manufacturer offer replacement parts for these specific light strips? I don't know. There's no info in the user's manual about replacement parts. Also, the lights have an unusual (to me, anyways) cord configuration, so when the lights eventually do go out, you *may* need to get a new power supply as well. I'll try to post a photo of the relevant page into my review.

Question:	can this connector be used for low voltage lighting
Answer:	All info we have says you have to make a complete connection. If only 3 sides then it still has to be connected with the twisted wire to make it work. Twisted wire has no current but makes the connection complete. Hope this helps

Answer:	Hi there John, the large white unit is the transmitter. The wires in the ground connects to this and it controls the signal. The smaller unit is a lightening protector that reduces the risk of power surges.
Question:	How much wire will I need to get for about 2 acres of property
Answer:	Hi there, for 2 acres of property you will need a minimum of 1,200 feet of wire. It will probably be best to have a total of 3 spools of wire (500 ft. each) so that you don't run out as the layout may call for extra.
Question:	How many feet of wire is included
Answer:	This system includes 500 feet of 20 gauge wire. However, I did a good deal of research before purchasing this system and I found that this is was not going to be enough for my yard and more importantly, this 20 gauge is a very light weight wire and many people had to replace it after just two years. As a result, I did use this system, but I did not use the cheap wire that came with it. I, instead, went to FlexPetz.com and used their "Heavy Duty 16-Gauge Dog Fence Wire (1000 ft)". The SKU number was HD-16AWG-1000. It cost me $117.95 and the shipping was free. They also have a good selection of various lengths if you do not need 1000 feet. I finished installing my fence myself two weeks ago and it is working great. I have no complaints and I feel confident knowing that I will not need to replace the wire anytime soon.

Answer:	I have it around 5 acres and it works great. I have it attached, about afoot above the ground, to our regular wire cattle fence.
