Answer:	It could. I bought the dinosaur one to avoid that problem because it has feet. Unfortunately my aggressive chewer took out the feet within the first hour. I realize that the dog is supposed to go after the edible rawhide ring, but my dog didn't read the instructions. My concern is that if left unattended he would easily be able to break off chunks of hard rubber that he could swallow. I threw the product away after one day and bought a bison horn instead. That has kept him safely busy even when unattended.

I wrote to "Petsafe" about manufacturing in Taiwan and they claim they have regular inspections......My dog eats 2 discs twice a day for years........he has the whitest teeth of any lab I have ever seen....but I do worry that they are not made in the USA and lately they just started adding Sodium Phosphate to the rings......so once a day I substitute Dr Harvey's Dehydrated Sweet Potatoes, (made in the USA/no additives), but they are not rings....I improvise and my dog loves them........I have written to Dr. Harvey's to PLEASE manufacture the sweet potatoes as rings to fit the Busy Buddy Chewbone but they never answered......

Answer:	I would suggest using "Starmark" branded rings (available on Amazon) because they are made in the USA, where as the PetSafe refills/rawhide are made in China using ingredients also sourced in China. They won't be as snug, but you don't have to worry about giving your pup melamine and/or formaldehyde or something else using the Starmark rings.

Answer:	I use the Mickey Mouse shaped one as a treat dispenser (I put dog food kibble in it because their kibble is small enough), and I use the snowman shaped one as a peanut butter lick . My dogs are happy with them and it keeps them distracted when we leave the house.
