Answer:	It's made for steel. I bought it for wood. Not real good with wood. Works, but you chance screwing up your project because it tends to bite way too much when getting started.

Very confusing listing. First, this is a THIN Kerf blade ... meaning that the width of the cut is minimal. So the second line of the product description is incorrect ... it "says" "THICK kerf and blade" which is directly opposite to the initial "heading" product description. I run a 14" version of this so possibly the overall kerf thickness is greater but even on the 14" the width of the cut is only slightly more than 1/16". Second, the blade is an Alternate Top Bevel with (from observation) every other tooth being a a flat top raker. It does not, however, leave a flat bottom cut because the ATB teeth protrude very slightly past the flat top raker. If you want a flat bottom cut for dados I suggest looking for a regular kerf ... and plate thickness ... rip blade with flat chisel teeth. A few years ago I bought two such blades (24Teeth) and gang them when I need a wide dado. They were very cheap (not Freud) and when you take it slow they'll give you a nice flat bottom dado even across the grain. Incidentally, I have had very good luck with the original Freud blade you asked about and have had several. The current incarnation however, seems to be slightly out of round ... hopefully not a portent of things to come. Good luck.
