Answer:	I sure wish I saw this sooner! As a nurse who's dealt with this problem more than I've cared to in my career (& my gosh do I feel terrible for the families & cleanup!), my answer to this question is: YES you CAN absolutely use a fine tooth FLEA comb that's typically used for cats due to the closeness/fineness of the teeth of the comb. In fact, I think it is a MUCH better option than the combs that come with the kits, whether Rx or OTC. I just would NOT RECOMMEND A DOUBLE ROW comb to anyone using this for lice. I would advise instead that you use a SINGLE ROW comb with teeth as fine as possible. I also have lots of experience with these particular combs as I recently purchased 3 of them. What I've noticed is that depending on the way you angle the comb, it may be just the second row that catches the lice or fleas and either are VERY easily overlooked when caught between the two rows. I've had this happen with fleas where I'd thought I'd tapped out all the trapped fleas only to see one or two drop off from time to time because it was caught between rows. This also happened with a couple of chiggers (little orange burrowing mites). I'd recommend when using double row combs, that you use them in front of a good light source.So to sum it up, treatment for lice is already quite toxic and you want to make sure you get as MANY nits off of the hair as humanly possible the first time to prevent retreatment because in my opinion, repeated treatment is the real nightmare.

Of course as you know, ridding of fleas is next to impossible these days.I found using the comb daily worked very well. Answer:	The difference is the dog comb design is slightly different than the cat comb. If you buy both of the combs, you'll see the slight difference on the design of the Handle and teeth. The cat comb is 0.2 x 2.5 x 9 inches ; 0.6 ounces compared to the dog comb which is 0.2 x 2 x 3.2 inches; .06 ounces. So that's why is cost a little more. Cats have a totally different coat than a dog. a Cats coat is finer and thinner than a dogs coat, which is more tougher and not as fine as a cat's coat.
