When it is time to cut the claws I put him in the sink so there's a barrier to him backing away as cats do. Also putting a towel on the bottom of the sink can be helpful. Be sure to be careful to only cut the tips . don't go into the dark part. I talk and sing as I know this helps keep them calm.

Answer:	It would be pretty difficult. I have a very patient large dog. I imagine with a small dog, it would be best to lay the dog across your lap, back toward your stomach, gently but firmly holding each paw while filing. I think it's easier to use without the guard cap.
Question:	I have a pedi paws and love it! also bought replacement heads, but they don't fit! are there different models
Answer:	Replace it with an original pedi paws. I loved mine too but it quit working so I replaced it with the new version. The heads are not the same. I was very disappointed.

Answer:	All, I was wondering if the company made some changes to this product’s design and even the brand name itself (notice how the company’s name is “Ruri” vs “Pedi Paws”). Not sure if Pedi Paws sold the product (?). Anyway, I just wanted to share that I purchased a “Pedi Paws” branded one 4 years ago (looks just like this one) and that it still works just fine to this day. I remember purchasing a box or two of extra grinders/heads at the same time for I have adopted 2 young puppies then that I know will grow to be big girls (from 6.5lbs, to now 90lbs and 60lbs). The only difference that I noticed lately of is that the batteries seems to drain out faster that before. I realized that I’m having to replace them almost every trimming session, though I’m certain that I’m being conservative during each session. Also, I’d gotten so proficient in doing this since I’ve had my dogs since their puppihood and I started grooming them myself ever since. They’d grown accustomed to this that they even take naps in between during the nail trimming sessions :). They loved this grinder and so I was hoping to purchase another one, just in case the one I have breaks down any time soon. But after seeing all the negative comments here, I thought I’d share my experience with everyone. I cannot vouch for the one that they are selling on here now and I’m not advocating against purchasing it (for those who may be interested), but I personally doubt if this is the same product that I had purchased 4 years ago.

Before grinding, open the battery cover and fill batteries (please do not install the battery in the wrong direction).
