I had been able to use clippers on her by myself but it was scary since she has solid black nails and was struggling. I hope the grinding wheel lasts for a good long while. Ensure your pet is comfortable and as relaxed as possible. One method to restrain the pet is to place them on a table and standing opposite them. If your pet is too wiggly, try laying them on their side. Alternatively, you can kneel on the ground with your pet facing you or away from you and prop your pet's paw on your knee to keep it steady.

Hold the paw steady, but hold it gently.

Take it slow, filing off a small bit of the end of each toenail.

Question:	Would I be able to right-handedly dog nail grinding while facing dog? Does the rotation rotate towards you when holding with right hand? [unlike 7700]
Answer:	I've not used the 7700, so I'm not familiar with it. The dremel rotates horizontally. I have big dogs, so I usually trim their nails after a walk to burn off some energy first. They lay on their side w/me kneeling next to them to trim their nails. With my biggest dog (German Shepherd), I trim the nails on the feet on the paws she's laying on, then have her lay on her other side to do the same thing on the other 2 paws. The dremel has been a life safer. It's so much less stressful than a trip to the vet.

Answer:	Eric II is our very small pedigree Maltese 2kg and we use 100 to 120 grit which is excellent for him. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The drum is the attachment to the dremel. It rotates like the electric toothbrush. The band is the replaceable gritted paper - like the Emory board you use to file your nails - that goes in the band and you would replace them as they wear out.

Answer:	If you've been paying attention the last couple years Wal Mart is cheaper on a lot of things, and quality control is a lot better in my experience - meaning, you're less likely to get open boxed returned items missing manuals and original packaging from Wal Mart. Also, Wal Mart offers free shipping, you don't need to step foot in a store if you're a prude. Prime is becoming more of an all-in-one media entertainment "thingy". Pure retailers will provide better shopping experiences as amazon continues to branch in different areas. Just simple observations. Question:	How long is the charging time and how I know it's done
Answer:	It will take you forever with a large dog (thicker nails). I use it on my 22# dog, for her dew claws only. The balance of her nails, I use a hand held, battery charged nail grinder. It is not as loud as using a Dremel, and not as powerful. I used a Dremel on my Golden Retrievers, but you have to be very careful and comfortable with it. I will be buying another of the handheld type, when my current one decides to stop working. The handheld will still take you a long time though with thick nails. If you do it frequently of course, it wouldn't take as long. Maybe also choose 1 paw at a time. I also introduced a little treat in the beginning when she tolerated each nail. Now I don't have to provide treats. I just give a nice treat when I'm all done. The handheld grinder would be my best suggestion, if you choose to not take your one dog to have them professionally done. Good luck, I know your predicament!!

We classify our Nail Files as Fine - Medium Grit, so they probably fall in the 240 - 180 grit category. They have a higher grit then most emery boards, but a lower grit then metal files, which are generally quite coarse & harsh on natural nails. It is also recommended for use on fragile, weak or damaged nails 180 grit - the lowest grit appropriate for natural nails. Answer:	one side and one edge is more aggressive than the other. Just guessing I would say this is about as aggressive as 100 grit and 120 grit sandpaper. Very aggressive in my opinion.
