My definition is crunchy, not so much "hard". Freeze dried anything is not going to be soft. I ordered the slabs once, and easily cut them up with giant scissors I have for such projects. Pruning sheers would cut easily too.

Answer:	They do not have a strong smell. They are freeze dried raw meat though so it recommends washing your hands after handling them which I did not noticed immediately. They are not crunchy or hard, but are not soft per se. They are good for training treats because they vary in sizes from extra small to small, but they are high in protein and therefore fat, so I would switch between this and other leaner treats each day. My dog is very picky as a Yorkie but loves these, the lamb, and turkey by sojos.

Some of the pieces are bigger so you might need to break them up some for your kitty or crumble a piece on top of their food. Since they are dry it is very important to ensure there is fresh water available at all times for your kitties to drink.

Answer:	I believe it's just dried duck hearts! I threw away the bag to put into my dog's canister!!

Answer:	These hearts are freeze dried so I believe the texture described in normal. I find I can pretty much crumble them into (almost) a powder in my hands. Assuming the vacuum is intact when you open the package and you keep the remainder cool and dry ( I keep mine in a zip-lock in the freezer.) they should keep for weeks. Signs of spoilage would include moisture, mold, or funky smell. We have bought these multiple times and our Labrador loves them. Hope this helps.

Question:	How long is the product shelf life and best way to store it
Answer:	From the time we produce and package our Freeze Dried food, there is about 24 months until expiry. Heat, moisture, and light have the biggest impact on shelf life. Food is good until best before date that is located on the back of each package if stored correctly. Once opened, you can safely store ORIJEN Freeze Dried food in its packaging by resealing the bag after each use. Refrigeration of ORIJEN is not required. Rather than a garage with large temperature fluctuations, the best storage is in your home in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
Question:	How many patties/medallions in a 1lb bag please
Answer:	There are approximately 30 medallions in the larger 16 oz. bag. and approximately 12 medallions in the smaller 6 oz. bag.
Question:	Do you have to rehydrate to use them, or can they be eaten dry as is
Answer:	ORIJEN Freeze Dried foods do need to be rehydrated. Reconstituting the food adds back the missing moisture content, increases palatability and helps your dog digest the food he is eating. For your dog to enjoy ORIJEN’s amazing fresh food flavors to the fullest, rehydrate ORIJEN freeze-dried foods by adding 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) of warm water per medallion, wait 3-6 minutes and serve.

Answer:	It is freeze dried so you can keep it fresh for a very long time. The bag is so small that you go through the food way before you would ever have to worry about the product. It is excellent food for a dog.
Question:	How many cups are there per 8lb bag, 40 or
Answer:	Our Complete Turkey recipe is available in a 7 pound bag and has approximately 28-30 dry cups of food. This will rehydrate into approximately 35-40 pounds of food.
Question:	What is the percentage of meat in this
Answer:	There’s no percentage breakdown that I can see other than beef is the first ingredient
Question:	can Sojos tell me the experimentation date of a bog that is not open . I looked for it , but could not see it anywhere on the bag
Answer:	Do you mean expiration of a bag? I don’t have a bag on hand but there is an expiration date stamped on the bag in small print.
