| Answer: | I use a "large breed" puppy kibble for my Labrador pup as the main source of his diet. Talk to your vet about the need for the correct balanced diet for your particular breed of puppy. I'm not certain that the Wellness canned chicken will give your pup everything he/she needs to properly grow to adulthood. For my older dog, I use a kibble diet designed for his age. However, for both my dogs, the pup and the older one, I do use the Wellness chicken as an additive to the kibble mixture to make it more palatable . I also use the Wellness chicken to make a meatball which includes all the pills/prescription medicine my older dog takes three times a day. The pills go down easy with this method. |

What I did find is that my dog loves this food since his digestive system responds better to a low fat diet. The ingredients have always been consistent and his fav is Chicken and it smells nice, unlike other can foods. The cans last me for about 2 days after stored in the fridge. For your lean dog reduce this amount by about a quarter or a little more. if the dog appears to gaining weight reduce this a little more. We feed our dogs a combination of "Core" dry and wet in the morning and then only dry in the evening. This combination along with plenty of exercise keeps our dogs at a good healthy weight. Our vet agrees. |
