Question:	How long do the batteries last? Does it eat batteries fast
Answer:	I have 2 of these and I just changed my batteries for the first time since getting the product ~2.5 years ago. Both feeders batteries died within ~1 month of each other. For reference I have the feeder turning 5 times a day and was using Amazon Basics brand D batteries.
Question:	My cats need five feeds a day, will I have to re program the machine every day. I am hoping that all I have to do is re fill it
Answer:	No, you don't have to re-program the machine every day. I hope we're talking about the PetSafe 5-tray machine. Because this 2-tray device isn't going to work for you. I have the 5-tray PetSafe product and it's worked very well. (1) Program the current time of day.(2) Program up to 9 different programs (no idea why you'd need that many)In your case, you'd program 4 different set times. Remember, that 1 of the trays is already open, hence no need for a timer.Your 4 programmed times will rotate the remaining 4 hidden trays at the chosen time. So, yes all you have to do is plop some food into the trays each day and you're set. My cat has not managed to open it either, so as far as I'm concerned it's cat proof enough. Good luck.
Question:	Can a Dog turn this unit over, and get to all of the Food
Answer:	This is a very small, very lightweight plastic feeding system and my dog was quickly and easily able to turn it over, slide it around the floor, and attempted to play with it like a dog toy. What's worse, the single AA battery is exposed once installed in the back of the unit (no cover... it could just pop out), so if a dog is mishandling this feeder it could end up eating a AA battery. Best to use this with a CAT or very small dog or puppy only.
Question:	For the 5-meal feeder, has anyone fed wet food with it
Answer:	I put cold wet food that I make in 3 servings and keep in refrigerator until ready to go to bed at 10:30. When I am going to bed I fill one empty tray with ice. My dog has Cushings Disease and wants to eat every 3 hours including through the night. The first feeding is at 11:30 pm. The food stays cool enough although to be safe i eliminate the meat in the last 2 trays that open at 2:30 and 5:00 am. I have had no problems. So far works extremely well and I am finally able to sleep through the night again. Wish I had known about this product a very long time ago!

Answer:	I think either use batteries or have it plugged inn

Answer:	Yes, they are attached to the feeder by fitting small slots in each plastic bowl base over a small appendage on the feeder base. The steel bowls actually rest inside these plastic bowl shaped bases.
Question:	Does it charge when plugged in or is it strictly batteries and actively plugged in
Answer:	It needs to be plugged in to operate or utilize the batteries. It does not charge. The batteries are back up if the power goes out.
Question:	Is it possible for a cat to get the food out by reaching inside
Answer:	In my experience, there are only a few kibbles that fall out immediately after a feeding. My guess is that the internal mechanism that dispenses the food doesn't quite push the last few kibbles to the opening, but it isn't something that the cat can do over and over.

Question:	How do i set this up
Answer:	It was surprisingly simple to set up. Still, I would suggest you watch a couple of YouTube videos for setting up the feeding schedule. After setting the time, press the setting button again to program each feeding. They are numbered 1 - 6. Highlight number 2 then set the time, then the size. Scroll to 2 then continue.
Question:	Why does the blue light flash every 30 seconds all day/night
Answer:	The flashing blue light mean food may be stuck in the dispenser. I have noticed that, if there is already food in the dish that has been pushed back toward the dispenser by my cat, the dispenser does not have enough force to push food out. It will pause and the LED will blink until I move the food forward to make room for more to come out.
Question:	How small can the kibble be? i have royal canine kitten dry and it is tiny
Answer:	The kibble I'm giving my cat right now is pretty small, so I'm sure the one you're using is fine. I think i'd be an issue if the kibble is really big, but not if it's small.
Question:	It says it can dispense 1-50 portions, but how large is each portion
Answer:	Hi! Through trial and error I found that each portion is just about a tablespoon. I had started with "10" and worked my way down to "2" and do 3 feedings a day and that keeps my cat on her toes. No too much to spew everywhere but enough to fill her belly.

Answer:	I’ve only had my feeder for about two months and no jamming so far. I’m feeding my cats Dr. Pol Cat Food. This food has a small kibble size. I love it. I like their waterer too. I just bought a second one but had to buy it through petlibro. Now my cats drink a lot of water. I should just stick to the feeder. I like this one because I can put a plate under the dispenser and the lip of the plate goes under the dispenser perfectly. The stainless cup is good too but I was worried about whiskers being cramped.

Question:	Do i have the option to not record my voice? i’d rather have it just dispense
Answer:	You do NOT Have to record your voice. Also, both large (original) & small (easy to change to) serving size dispensers have a range of meal sizes. It is Not just 2 sizes of meals. Meal range is from 5 gm - 390 gm. Set each meal size separately, some or different. Recommend starting smaller because to Reduce serving size, you must cycle up through #39, then on up to the desired # to dispense (5 or 10 gm, depending on small or large serving size.) Yes, I Recommend.
Question:	On my other automatic cat feeder, my cat is able to open the dispenser with her paw. How easy/hard is it on this machine
Answer:	Impossible for an animal to open. The lid has a recessed latch that requires pressing firmly while lifting with the fingers.
Question:	Can you use a different bowl than the one provided
Answer:	I wouldn't think so since this one is attached. if the bowl is loose the dog might move it around and then food would get all over. You can take the bowl a.part to wash it though
Question:	The kibble we use is some different shapes in size, some are fractionally larger. is this going to cause a problem with the dispenser

Question:	Is it easy for my 18 pound cat to knock this over or open the top
Answer:	One of our furbabies is a big boy...22 pounds. We actually have this feeder sitting high on the top level of a cat tree. Probably around 6 feet off the floor. Between 3 cats ranging from small . large, and xx large, they haven't knocked it over nor even attempted to. The lid closes very securely and they've really shown no interest in the lid. They are mainly concerned with the food in the bowl of the feeder. Prior to placing the feeder so high (so the dog wouldn't incur injuries from cat attacks for daring to use the feeder as if it was for her also) the feeder was on the floor and the cats were never seen to try to open the top. If they were trying to open it in "secret" when weren't home or in the room, they were unsuccessful. They've already trained themselves to go running to feeder when they hear the recording play just before the food is release. They are fast LOL sometimes they make it there in time to watch the food be dispensed. We LOVE this feeder and so do the cats. The dog did also until it was put on cat mountain where she can't climb to and isn't allowed if she could.
Question:	How do you clean the food container inside
Answer:	I have not had it that long but the top opens so you can reach down inside with a damp cloth very easily.
Question:	The description states the tray is stainless steel, and in photos & videos, the tray looks and sounds like plastic
Answer:	The tray itself is plastic but it has a stainless steel insert making clean up really easy!

Answer:	No! This is THE BEST feeder I've ever had in that respect. My expert-feeder-breaker cat cannot get a kibble out of it. He cannot reach up into it, he cannot knock it over and break in the top. (things he's done with EVERY OTHER FEEDER)
