Question:	Once the hardware is mounted to the walls, how hard is it to remove the panels? We need a fence that can be up and down at various times
Answer:	Not very easy if you want to remove it completely because it's screwed into the walls (my setup). Continuously unscrewing and screwing it back in will lead to the holes wallowing out. You do have the option of removing everything but the two panels attached to the wall. The mechanism(s) on the panels that allow them to pivot can be completely removed allowing you to remove the gate portion. It's not ideal but it's probably better than ruining your walls by screwing and unscrewing the brackets. Depending on what you are mounting the gate to, you could probably put some permanent mounts in place in place allowing for easy removal on a regular basis.
Question:	Can the door on the gate be installed on either end or must it only be in the middle
Answer:	No the door is in the middle.
Question:	Can I add on to this gate
Answer:	Yes, you just have to make sure that the additional pieces you buy are the same height as the initial gate you buy. There are 2 different heights available on Amazon, and if you're not looking specifically for the height, you'll end up with an extra set of useless pieces like we did.

Question:	Does this gate require two hands to opperate? Turning the knob with one hand while pulling the gate with another
Answer:	I'm not sure why there are varying answers to this, maybe the product changed? But mine requires two hands, you must push in and twist, then hold while you pull the gate open. To avoid this I twisted the knob and then shoved a thumbtack into the gap at the bottom of the knob, that works just fine for holding the knob in place.
Question:	The top clip to the retractable baby gate has snapped in half
Answer:	First the bottom, in my case -- and after a 'hack-y' fix that lasted another week -- now the top has broken. Doesn't look like a replaceable part -- I've spent a lot of time thinking on how I could "add some hardware" to simulate the missing clips. A shame - because I liked the gate, in concept. Definitely wasn't up to the abuses of regular use and an enthusiastic puppy.
Question:	Does it lock in place when expanded? In other words, does it stay in place if a baby try’s to push it
Answer:	The gate latches to a wall catch plate that holds it while extended. If a baby pushes on the gate or falls on the gate while extended it will flex as the retractable roller does not lock in place. We use these gates as dog barriers and my dogs jump on them all the time, it will flex and then return to use position.
Question:	Does the 71 inch width include the mounting brackets
Answer:	Be VERY cautious if you are buying this for a large opening. Yes it does extend to 70-71 inches (not 72)... however, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: you need to twist the knob on the left side of the screen before it retracts, and at the same time use your right hand to unhook the screen on the right side. This is a safety feature to make it hard for little kids to retract the screen, it makes it nearly impossible to use for a very large opening, unless you have like a 7-foot wing span and can reach both end of the screen at once. I'm going to contact amazon for a refund because this is not mentioned in the listing info. While it does technically extend to close to six feet, it is not practical at all to use for a six foot opening. (and unfortunately I didn't find this out until it was mounted and I drilled 8 holes in my wall.)

Question:	The heading says that the gate max. 80 "(2m), but in the pictures it is max. 74" (1.87m) wide. What's right here
Answer:	I believe that the 74 inches is if you use it in a zig-zag pattern, which is most stable. But I notice that somebody in the comments has used it completely straight up to the 80 inches, with it attached on either side by a piece of furniture or something. It would need stabilizing if not used in the zig-zag formation

Question:	If setting it up like the picture shown with the fire place, is there another way to mount it besides it being permanent
Answer:	We use the "Baby" Gate for our two standard poodles. We have not mounted it to the walls; instead, we use it as a stand alone fence to temporarily block off certain areas. We have it set up now as a kind of playpen for our 5 month old puppy to keep her confined while housebreaking and to keep her from eating our other dog's food at meal times. It works perfectly. We've been using it now for almost two years. Of course, it isn't as secure as it would be if it were attached to the walls, but we wanted something more portable to be used in various places.
Question:	is it free standing on carpet? i want to use this as barrier gate like an arch, does this product serve its purpose?fall when pushed by kids
Answer:	It was not mounted for a couple days and I had to secure it with bins on either side. It currently is wall mounted and I would not trust it around children. When I push on it, it has quite a bit of give (12 inches). I can push it and pull it which is probably putting a lot of stress on the wall screws. The only reason I am keeping it is because I have a 20lb mostly blind dog and not an active toddler.
Question:	will it handle chilren shaking the fence
Answer:	My son jumps up and down trying to shake the fence when he has temper tantrums. It holds up just fine. That said, ours is cable-tied down to rubber mats (link below). I highly recommend this solution, as in addition to shaking, many kids try to move the walls of these things and can move the entire pen around the room. Answer:	yes 2 can be connected. i have them connected to make a large enclosure, but it does move quite a bit.

Question:	I need this for a 32 inch wide doorway.. it is to keep in a 4 lb chihuahua.. so how big are the holes when it is expanded to 32 inches
Answer:	At 32 inches wide the holes are diamond shaped and about 4 inches wide at the widest point by about 10 inches tall. I doubt a small dog could fit through.
Question:	does this gate swing aside BOTH ways when closed or open?s
Answer:	One dude is attached to a wall or door frame. The gate can be extended from that attached side to the other side of the opening. It can privet on the attached side or close towards the attached side. Cannot open or close in either direction once you attach to a wall or door frame. Hope this helps.
Question:	This is a “swing gate” does that mean the whole piece swings open while it stays mounted to the wall
Answer:	Yes. One side stays mounted to the wall. You can swing it out of the way when it’s not in use. When you need it, you can swing it and stretch it across a doorway and latch to the other side. I use it to keep my dogs out of bedrooms when I’m not home. It works great!
Question:	Can dogs climb over this gate, using the openings as steps
Answer:	I bought it to keep my dogs out of the garage and it works great but my 2 guys aren't climbers. I think it would shake too much for any dog to try to climb over it but that's the best I can offer!

Answer:	I don't think this gate would be big enough for a 23 pound dog. My ShihTzu is only ~12 pounds, and she can climb right over it. This model is only 24' high. The door is quite small, designed for a cat.

Answer:	Yes, the little cat door is on hinges and has a locking latch when you want it closed. This is a really nice gate. I think you'd be impressed with its quality.

Answer:	Dear Shannon: This was my problem also until I realized that on the crossbar that is the coarse adjustment for the gate, there is also a fine adjustment on the crossbar. The fine adjustment is the plastic white cylinder on the same crossbar. The coarse adjustment on the crossbar is where the peg moves from hole to hole to expand or contract the gate between the walls. The fine adjustment is when you turn the white cylinder clockwise (I believe) and the rubber pads on both sides of the gate will begin to tighten up against the walls. Please remember, this is a plastic screw mechanism and will crack if tightened too much. There in no need to attach the gate by use of screws to the wall.

Answer:	Yes. There was an extremely upset cat included in box. The seller was kind enough to poke holes though. Unfortunately the seller did not include a cat box so open in an area you don't mind getting messy and bathe cat immediately. Oh and this gate does not work on cat, it just jumps over.

Answer:	Yes, but I agree with the first answer. It will not even hold a cat in. We wanted it for an outside porch so we took feet off & anchored it to top stair posts. Even after cutting legs down a bit our cat could still push through so we put a board outside to block flexibility of gate. I guess it's worth $17.00 but is really more decorative than functional.

Answer:	It really depends, honestly. I think it would keep mine from going down the stairs, but my kids are fairly “gentle” compared to some other kids I know. Some are complete cannonballs and are hard to stop with anything other than a proper door. The manufacturer does specify a distance to be installed away from the first stair, as the barrier has a little bit of slack in it, so if clearance is tight it may not do the job.

Answer:	Shipment. Same thing happened to me. Shipment of the second gate was sent promptly after their notification.

Answer:	I would say no. This is a pretty good expandable "gate" but I don't think it is heavy enough or stable enough to stand up with plants growing up on it. Just don't think it is strong enough for that.

Answer:	Don't bother. I was expecting cheap Chinese trash, but this was worse. They literally fell apart within a few days. The box it came in would make a more effective physical barrier.

Answer:	Depending on how small your pup is............It's about 3" where the strips are low and about 5 - 6 inches in the high opening. But I recommend that you purchase a different brand as this particular one is pure junk. Hope this helps. I went on line and looked for one like this but better constructed with better material and paid about $39.00. I had one of these from Garden Creations and it's really really flimsy.
