| Answer: | I doubt it. it is made for interior walls using 2x4 studs and 1/2" drywall. Exterior walls use larger boards (at least 2x6's) and more material for insulation. It would not be a long enough tunnel. You could get the one for a door if you wanted to install at base of door (if there is a door leading to the catio. KittyPass and Pet Safe both make the cute kitty façade on door openings. The only drawback to any of these is no flap for exterior temperatures, etc. The other way is to modify your wall and make a casing like you would around a door, then put in plywood or other wood to make the "door" and then install the door tunnel version. It would not have to be big, just big enough to fit the door tunnel into. |

| Answer: | My house has 1/2" sheetrock and it fit "snug". I don't believe it will fit if you have a larger opening. However, I'm sure there is a way to modify the insert or buy a peice of plastic and cut it to the dimension you need. The outside trim has a recess in it, in which the inside plastic sleeve slides into. Technically, you can install it but one one side of the wall you will see a little bit off sheetrock on the inside (less than a quarter inch). Someone will have to get eye level to look inside and see the actual sheetrock. |

| Answer: | Yes. I'm on my fourth lab using this product. Three weighed 65 pound dogs for their entire lives. My current lab is a long, tall and lean athletic 80 pound dog. He can go through it without hitting the frame. That said, at 20+ years old, it's time to replace this entire unit. I've had to purchase replacement flaps twice over the 20+ years, but the plastic has now cracked. Considering how long this one lasted, I'll replace it with the same unit. |

There is a space between the two pieces as they do not connect all the way, It works just fine and both of our dogs don't seem to mind. We were planning on putting something in between but have not done so yet. The space between both sides is small so it doesnt seem to be an issue. Hope this is helpful. Buying this was the best decision we made for our pets. No more accidents at night. They love their door! Plus the double flaps keep the weather out of the house. It is a great product I highly recommend it! |
