Question:	I have a puppy who will eventually be about 30 lbs once full grown. Is it better to be safe than sorry and just get the large size for longevity
Answer:	I used this leash for my dog from the time he was 8 lbs and still use the same model for him (he is now over 50 lbs!). So I believe it would be best to get the large size. Regarding safety, the condition of the leash is more important than its size. You should inspect the tape once in a while, since if the tape is damaged, the leash can break at a critical time. On a side note, many trainers do not recommend retractable leashes for puppies during their training, and believe it complicates the training (I did not have a problem training him with this retractable leash)
Question:	This product described in searching page is BELT one,why do I see it's title described as a CROD one in this page.Is it a belt one either crod one
Answer:	yvonne they carry both but you should look elsewere as this company does not respond when their products fail within days of use believe me i bought 3 as i have three dogs in which i had both the belt and rope the seemed better than the belt the rope retracted faster the would often twist stopping to rectract at times all three of mine stopped working within 1 month BUYER BEWARE YOU WERE WARNED

Answer:	The whole thing weighs about 7 oz. The clasp weighs about 0.6oz and the leash is very strong and light. I don't even think your pup would even notice it's attached until he runs out of string. I mistakenly bought one for a large dog and the only difference I noticed was the weight of the unit that you hold. The leash and clasp was light enough fo my 14 lb Jack.
Question:	I have a 70lb part Rottweiler with a very strong pull when she wants to. How well will this locking mechanism actually hold up
Answer:	I bought this leash and have used it on at least one 70-75 lb dog or another since about 2003. In all this time I have only had to clean or dry it. I buy regular flat leashes to match a new collar. I carefully loosen the loop in the cord at the plastic enough to change out only the leash part, adding a large hand loop and then sew or fastened it with epoxy glue in a clamp. I am arthritic and also wear it on a another leash like a shoulder sling bag so I cannot drop it. Still, I have to be vigilant to break it or my third dog will delight in running it out fast enough to pull me out of my shoes again. I really understood and obey the cautions to never let it's round lead loop around my fingers or hands. He has bent a metal street signs with it and still not cut himself free. If he did, I'm just use my wife's shorter tape flexi until I can order a new one.

Answer:	The one I got is pink. I did not have much luck with this product. The cord is very narrow and my puppy gets tangled i it, much more so than the "ribbon" type we already had. It may do better for an older dog.

Answer:	Is the dog coming into your yard to do it? I love dogs. All dogs even the one jumping on you but have you ever seen cool hand luke? Hot pepper powder in your yard will keep it out. I have used outdated pepper spray in my lawn to the same effect.

Answer:	No it doesn’t work for this model
Question:	Is there a retractable leash that has a cord or cable that dogs can't chew into
Answer:	We had that issue--our dog used to bite through the leash pretty near where it attached to his collar. We resolved it by attaching the leash to an open choke collar that we just used as a chain to extend the leash. Then we attached another clip to attach the chain to our dog's collar. The leash still retracts well, even with the added weight of the chain.
Question:	If the coiled leash is not completely enclosed / protected isnt more likely to get ruined should it get pulled out of hand and dragged on the groun
Answer:	Our leash gets pulled out of hand and dragged on the ground daily. I've also dropped it in the river and THEN accidently dropped it, leash extended, wet, in the sand. Rather than ruin it, I was able to clean it out and dry it BECAUSE it is open. I extended it and cleaned the leash in the river. When I got home I extended the leash and dried it outdoors and then simply shook all the sand and dirt out of the housing. ANY other enclosed retractable would have been ruined.
