Unbuckle the chest strap and loosen the nest strap. Slide your pup's head through the neck piece, and arrange the chest straps between the two front legs, under the chest.

Question:	Could I replace the plastic buckle with a metal buckle? Has anyone done this
Answer:	No there is not....but this is a hammock.....for even the biggest dog it would be awkward to climb....if the dog approaches to far off the area where the seat ends the hammock changes the center of gravity slightly....kind of like trying to get out of a hammock for us. I have no issue keeping my 80lb malamute in back & out of my way while driving. Without it she will climb up front and even on my lap while I m driving...scary I know!
