He fits comfortably for a short trip (maybe 2hrs) but very nice for hiking/walking as well. I really would not recommend it for a pet larger than my pets measurements, but anything around this size or smaller this could be the most perfect bag that allows for free hands for when traveling and feel secure having my pooch near me. I like having his weight distributed w a backpack style bag instead of the one shoulder ones which I too have and those other ones end up hurting my neck, back or arm after a lil' while.

Answer:	The instruction are sparse, the sellers informed me they are redeisgning the instructions. It’s difficult to describe with our pictures. It took trial and error to adjust the backpack to fit comfortably.
