Answer:	The large is about 36 inches by 20 inches, which fit my long, 65-pound dog perfectly, since to be cool, the important thing is to get the body on the mat, not the head or tail. When she lies on her side, her legs also hang part way off the mat, but this too is fine. Get a size large enough so that your dog's torso will fit on the mat. She still loves this, and it still loves how cool it is, even though the weather is getting cooler.
Question:	What is the gel made of? ie the Chemical. Is it toxic to dogs if it leaks
Answer:	My puppy just tore the mat apart and the foam bits and the gel were everywhere. I freaked out because the term "non-toxic" wasn't enough for me. I called the poison hotline (ASPCA) and they reassured me that because of my dogs size and the ingredients (home grown USA), that at the very most, he might experience some loose stool or vomiting. Not saying that if your dog ingest this you should not contact your vet, but I thought I would write this answer to ease someone else going through the same process. FYI-the post mentioning the mat being toxic was made a couple years ago, so I'm not sure if they changed the ingredients-but for reference I purchased mine summer of 2016

Answer:	My Newfie is 145 lbs and I haven't noticed damage due to his weight. Although we keep ours in a freezer before we bring it out.

Answer:	I agree with everyone else. We have tiles floors in one room where one of my dogs routinely sleeps, and he sleeps on this bed rather than the tile floors. My other, big Akita does the same--he chooses this bed over tile or our brick floors, though he can only get his big body on part of the mat.

Answer:	The smaller one would be fine. My lab-aussie mix fits on the 27 x 43 with plenty of room to spare the smaller one would have been fine.

Answer:	Not super thick, but thick enough. You can kind of tell by looking at the pic. It is comfy for our dog who weighs 52 lbs, and it isn't obtrusive on our patio. I am glad I found it and would buy it again.
