Answer:	My fountain came with a extra water pump motor. You can purchase a new one they are usually around $15.00 or so. To keep the pump clean of gunk and slime build up that will shorten the life of the water pump motor, while i am cleaning the fountain bowl i add a half cup of white vinegar to the water and let the water circulate for 10 - 15 minutes.

Answer:	Hi Peggy, great question! If the unit runs out of water you may burn out your pump, as it will not shut itself off. That being said, the pump does have a built-in feature that will prevent it from catching fire.

Answer:	Yes, you can. I stopped using the carbon filters a long time ago. They got slimy after a day or two and constantly clogged and restricted the water flow from the pump. I have a Drinkwell Avalon and also a Seascape fountain, both of which have been running perfectly for years without the carbon/charcoal filter. No more slime, clogged pumps or weak/restricted water flow. The carbon filter's purpose is only to filter the water for taste/smell and since I only use filtered water in my fountains, using this filter was overkill. My pumps now stay clog free and the water flow is always strong and unrestricted. I do use the foam filters because those are the ones that surround the pump and help to trap food, hair and other debris from entering the pump. Since I have 3 cats drinking from the fountains, I change the water and rinse/clean the foam filters every 3 days. I do a thorough cleaning of the pumps every 3 or 4 weeks and change the foam filters about every 6 weeks. Both pumps have been running trouble free since ditching the carbon filters.

Question:	Carrageenan is a documented known carcinogen and also causes IBS. Why do you continue to put it in your product.and then call it "Wellness
Answer:	I've noticed this too in the most recent batch purchased. I contacted the manufacturer who had gotten calls from about 4 people reporting the same issue. They were investigating at the time (this was about April 10, 2015) but suspected it was from a change they'd just made in their nutrient formula (meaning the vitamins/minerals that are added to the chicken). They'd left me a voicemail (very responsive customer service) with this information and said they'd call back in a few days when they finished the investigation but I haven't heard back and haven't yet followed up with them. My two cats (12 pound, 5yr old male and 8 pound, 1.5 yr old female) have continued to eat the food with the black dots (for about 2 weeks now) and have had no adverse reactions.

Answer:	We feed our kittens this. Yes, it's grain free. I consider it a quality kitten food.

Answer:	Does not have "gravy" that some cat foods have. We raised 4 feral kittens (which now live here!) and they really loved this food when they were transitioning from bottles to wet food. We did have to add KMR so it was wetter but they were just learning. I'd buy just one can in a store and see if your kitty likes it. Best of luck!
