If your pump has seemingly stopped working in a short period of time, it may just simply need to be lubricated. To do this, disassemble the pump (like you would for your normal weekly cleanings), and thoroughly wash and dry all three parts. Next, place a drop of edible oil (such as olive or vegetable) on the motor pin. Finally, reassemble the pump, reassemble the fountain, add water, and you should be good to go! Answer:	yes, though technically, the product comes with a straight bracket meant to be screwed to the back of the desk. if you buy the optional mounting bracket, you can orient the slim 2 ways: - Floating (outlets face the front of the desk) - Surface (oulets face upwards) I bought both the slim and the bracket and while the combo was probably close to $50, I've never looked back at it and felt it was too expensive - it uses barely any desk space, doesn't move and is so convenient, plus the USB chargers are higher power than the old (non-slim) version.

Take the Pump Apart

Remove & keep the blue faceplate by using your finger to pull on the small tab on the side.

Remove the Stator

Remove & keep the blue teardrop-shaped stator by pulling up on the small lip.

Remove the Impeller

Use a fingernail to pull out the impeller, which is held in place magnetically, & keep it. Clean the pump parts with warm water and soap, then reassemble.
