Answer:	Van Ness Stainless Steel Dishes: We use a grade of stainless steel classified as 201 on all Van Ness Stainless Steel pet bowls. Type 201 is safe for food and water contact and characterized by low nickel contact. Type 201 is typically also used in cooking utensils. A silicon carbide abrasive is used to polish the stainless steel in the manufacturing process. We do not recommend placing these items in the dishwasher. Hand wash and dry these products. Stainless Steel Dishes are manufactured in India. We have used the same company for 10+ years.

Question:	I've had it for only a week and the pump ran for a day and a half and then quit. Where can I contact the company to ask for a replacement pump
Answer:	Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your pump. We have found that the impeller which is held in by a magnet can become off balance. There is a quick fix for this problem. If you look on page 9 & 10 of your manual there are instruction on how to take apart the pump. If you no longer have your manual you can go to www.pioneerpet.com and go under instructions/products and they will show you how to take apart your pump. When you do this and remove the impeller after you put it back in give it a few spins this will help it stay in balance. You should be doing this once a month when you change your filters. Question:	Is this fountain all stainless or is the outside bowl white
Answer:	The fountain is entirely stainless. The inner pump is housed in plastic. It runs very quiet. I'm really pleased w/ this one. It was easy to assemble and clean as well.
Question:	Most of the complaints about this fountain seem to be about the pump. Is it plastic? Is there any smell around the pump
Answer:	I've owned this fountain since November 2014 and the pump is still going strong. You just need to take it apart and clean it thoroughly every time you clean the fountain. My cats and I love this fountains.
Question:	Does anyone else have a problem with foaming or bubbles on the surface of the water? It looks like scum, but it's not, and the fountain is clean
Answer:	The 'bubbles' you see are an indicator that you need to clean your fountain and change (or rinse VERY well) your filters more often. There is a difference in aeration bubbles and saliva residue. When your cat drinks, saliva gets into the water dish and is re-circulated through the pump. If you have the residue on your water surface; your pump and filter probably feel slimy to the touch. We have 7 indoor cats that use 4 fountains (stainless steel really is better; the flower brands now have stainless steel bowls (well worth it to replace older plastic ones). Some weeks all of them are slimy, others none are. I take apart and clean them all every week regardless. I use Clorox Clean-up and brushes. After cleanimg, I leave them to soak in VERY hot water with ~1 T vinegar (until water cools), rinse again and reassemble. I replace the filters every week. I also run them through the dishwasher every 4 to 6 weeks so they get washed in water hotter than my hands can bear. This sounds like lot of work, but the benefit to the cats of having clean, running water is worth it. It only takes about 2 hours to do all four. When compared to the weeks we spent at veterinary offices and emergency clinics (not to mention the thousands of dollars we spent and the suffering he went throuh) with one of our males that had a urinary blockage; it doesn't seem like much time at all! Fountains really do encourage cats to drink more water which is necessary for urinary tract health. Therefore, in my opinion, the small amount of extra work they make is a reasonable trade off. Answer:	Most likely, probably not the 8018 model because it’s a 75lb which is excessive for an 8,000 btu. Perhaps Friedrich. Since moisture is your concern, I’d suggest the LG, Friedrich, or new GE profile as they all have drain holes. The issue for me is usually how much light is let in, LG and Kenmore elite made by LG usually are good here, GE lights up a room through the vents (at least the ones at Walmart and Home Depot). Then use pan tabs. Or get a slide out with a drain hole. My Frigidaire made Kenmore (non elite) molded before the LG or Kenmore elite LGs we have, 1 season is all. No drain hole, always left the fan on, so seems an issue with humidity and lack of a drain plug. Because no light really came in the vents, decent build, I accepted no drain hole but don’t suggest it! Also if you Lysol regularly, it prevents mold on mold free surfaces. Go from the beginning. Avoid black louvers, it’ll hide an issue.

Question:	How do you teach your dog or cat to drink from it
Answer:	I've got my LG 8013er mounted on a piece of split rubber fuel line to isolate the bottom of the AC from the aluminum window sill. Still working great after 20,000 hours although I replaced the fan motor bearings after 3 years. The metal cabinets on window AC units are held on with just sheet screws and on these LG models the plastic tabs fit in little rectangular holes in the sheet metal tab. You can take an adjustable wrench closed down to the width of the sheet metal and raise that metal tab near the hole bending the sheet metal up a 16th of an inch or so. The plastic front fits much tighter then. The other place that sometimes rattles is the air direction vane mounting assembly. The LG models don't usually rattle there, but wedging something at one end or the other of the outflow vent where it pivots will stop that. The newer LG8017 has a screwed in front and a wired display that makes it a little more difficult to access and clean the front coils. This was probably a response to the complaints about rattles which doesn't require bending those sheet metal mounting tabs..

Question:	Where can I buy a replacement valve for this
Answer:	The one I bought did not have a blower.
Question:	Is this waterer able to be placed on a heated base for the winter
Answer:	I had that problem as well. My problem was that the vent safety wire was not connected to the back of the gas valve, securely. I can not post the link to the owners manual here, but if you look at the back of your heater a small wire attaches to the back of it. Even though it maybe in the slot to the gas valve that your pilot light switch is connected to it might not be connected to the switch securely. Put it back into the switch until it bottoms out. I have to do this about twice a year. Never had a problem with mine in six years of service since I figured this out. Also you may have to pinch that wire down so that it gets a good connection. Hope this helps.
Question:	Does this fountain have a filter of any kind
Answer:	No. My landlord installed 2, TWO of these in my home last year. The pilot light refused to stay on & repair people were unable to figure out why. First one was returned & a 2nd was installed. Had same problem w/the 2nd unit & it was returned as well. This product sucks. RUN AWAY!! A "Williams" gas heater was finally installed & is GREAT!!
