Answer:	This is product is Magnesium Chloride which is more gentle than other melting products on most surfaces. However, it is not ideal to put any melting material on your shingles or gutters. If you have an ice dam, you can put the product in a nylon stocking and lay that on the roof to create a drainage channel.

Answer:	I used it on my wood deck and wooden handicap ramp last winter and I have not seen any adverse effects. Seems to be very safe.

Question:	Can this be used on aluminum
Answer:	I am not sure why you would want to do that. It;s a lot more effective if you let the crystals work directly. I didn't try this but I would guess you would have some issues with the crystals clogging the sprayer and the solution being too dilute. I was actually quite pleased with the spread on this. If you check n it periodically you can sweep unused crystals into areas that still need to melt.
