Answer:	I will presume you mean decks. Yes. We have a serious amount of decks facing into the woods. Every snow or ice event, we use this and similar products on the decks. It has never been a problem.

Answer:	You should know that Calcium Chloride isn't the only ingredient. It also contains Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, and other highly effective snow melters. There has been some studies that showed that using salt (Sodium Chloride) can build up in the soil, causing the plants unable to efficiently take up water through their roots. This is especially true for shallow root plants like grass and most crops. But this can be prevented if you simply avoid the salt from contacting your lawn. Magnesium Chloride and Calcium Chloride may actually be HELPFUL to plants, as magnesium and calcium are crucial elements for maintaining healthy strong leaves. Infact, these two compounds are used as fertilizers. Although, animals can have magnesium poisoning. In short, they're no more harmful to the environment than regular snow melt (if used properly), maybe even better.

The head is also shaped so when you pull it towards you, the head will dig down deeper into the snow so as to contact the surface of the car, or, if you flip it over, when you push the head through the snow, it will dig down deeper. It easily removes snow, but how fast depends on the depth and volume of snow. When the snow has been deep, or when the snow has been only a few inches, but the I am pulling across the entire car, I use multiple passes; it works great. Best snow removing tool I ever used, and it is pliable foam, and it has not scratched my paint.

Answer:	Entry is a very easy product to apply. Entry is ready to use and does not require any mixing. Any 1-2 gallon pump or battery powered sprayer can apply Entry. The only requirement is that the nozzle on the spray wand is set to a fan spray.
Question:	Can this be applied before the storm
Answer:	Great question. Entry can be applied up to 6 hours prior to the storm. As a pre-treat, Entry can prevent up to 1/2 inch of snow from accumulating but it's "wow" factor is achieved as a shovel/spray product.
Question:	Does this work if applied before snow or ice is expected
Answer:	Thank you for your question. Entry can be used as a pre-treat prior to a snow event. If ice is expected, you are better off using a granular product as a pre-treat. If a snow storm is on the way, Entry can be applied to your high traffic areas and entrances up-to 6 hours before the snow begins. Entry will prevent up-to 1/2 inch from accumulating. It will also make the removal of snow easier as Entry will prevent the snow from bonding to the surface but Entry is best used as a shovel/spray product. Question:	Can this be used in a rotary salt spreader
Answer:	My previous attempt at answering was truncated. I will try again. This is a flake product. A pellet product would do better in a rotary spreader. I know the calcium chloride products come in pellet style. Not sure if the magnesium does or not. Both are excellent safe ice melters. I prefer the magnesium but do also spread it manually.

Answer:	on the 8300 it only states that Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate is the "Active ingredient", however literature on their site states "100% Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate"

Answer:	I'm afraid I can't say. It works on asphalt and assume it will work on any surface it touches. Problem with rocks is that their surfaces are often uneven.

Answer:	Yes. The red bag under the brand name Safe Step Extreme 8300 Magnesium Chloride Ice Melter (item # 53851) is 100% magnesium chloride. The manufacturer, North American Salt Co, does sell to, and is packaged under numerous other Brand Labels, and various packaging configurations including calcium chloride and blended salt products as you inquired about. Couple things to be mindful of in handling magnesium chloride, is after opening, keep your package tightly sealed (can't emphasize this enough- it is because of how the chemical interacts with water/moisture). And when dispensing, I suggest using a plastic scoop of some sort like some old food container to scoop and disperse. If you wear gloves of any sort, leather or otherwise, they will ultimately harden (turn to stone!) and become unwearable. I just use an old plastic food container to scoop and spread. I have found it to be the safest on my asphalt driveway and concrete steps when used in accordance with the directions on the bag.
