Question:	Does the 20 x 40 solar blanket come with ties
Answer:	No, but I'm not certain how you would use ties. We've used solar blankets for almost 30 years but never any ties.
Question:	how much will it raise the temperature of a 16 x
Answer:	Noticeably different I'd say doing it consistently for 5 days or so has raised it at least 10 degrees. I roll it up in the morning and cover it at night. Even at current weather (upper 70's in So Cal), I put the blanket on for couple days during evening time, temperature increased. If you want warmer pool without installing a heater, definitely get it. Just remember to uncover during the day (or at least during time when the filter is running) and cover it before sun down.
Question:	can you cut this pool cover to fit or does it have to stay the length that it comes
Answer:	Yes it can be trimmed to fit your pool. However, you will probably need to replace it within two years because it WILL fall apart and the company does not stand behind the warranty.

Answer:	It will be safe for at least a year. I have had the cover for exactly 13 months and the cover is starting to fall apart and is leaving small blue bubble debris in my pool. If you have fish in the pond, I would be concerned that the debris could harm the fish if they tried to eat it.

I had purchased one at a hottub spa sales shop that was a single sheet with no seams. Still, this one works well.

Answer:	There are a couple of important scientific principles at work with this spa cover, but most people assume the second-most important one is the most important, and that causes misunderstandings.1) Evaporation barrier. Note, this is not the same as a vapor barrier, which blocks water that has ALREADY evaporated into vapor. An Evaporation barrier can be a smooth impermeable blanket that sits over water, preventing the water from contacting the air above. Such a barrier prevents passive evaporation (not boiling) of your spa water. If you remember your science, evaporation requires heat energy to occur (it's endothermic), so when some of your spa water does vaporize, it sucks heat out of your spa. If your top cover isn't perfectly airtight, that water vapor will leak to the atmosphere, fresh air will enter, and then you'll vaporize some more spa water. This type of blanket almost stops evaporation. And believe me, your spa water DOES want to vaporize -- if you've ever seen steam off your spa, then you can believe me. Every bit of that steam sucked heat energy from your spa as it left. Not just the heat it took with it as warm steam, but additional energy it already stole when it converted phase from water to vapor.2) Insulation barrier. By separating your hot spa water from cooler air above, there is less transfer of heat. This is one thing the bubbles in the blanket help with (floating is the other thing). The insulation component of this blanket is most useful if you don't have another spa cover, and the outside air is significantly colder than the spa water. But if you already have an insulated cover, the role of the bubble blanket is trivial. Think about it: 4" of closed cell foam versus thin plastic with a single bubble: which one is giving you more insulation?For a blanket like this, evaporation blocking is FAR more important than insulation. For that reason, BUBBLES UP IS THE BETTER WAY to install it. The smooth bottom will separate water from air more, and prevent more evaporation. Bubbles down will allow some evaporation, and allow the vapor to escape through air pockets out to the edges, and into the air cavity. Bubbles down does offer more insulation, because the air pockets between the bubbles offer some additional insulation, along with the air trapped in the bubbles. But, as stated, stopping evaporation is what is most important.

How To Measure For The Solar Pocket

Solar Pocket consists of five j-hooks that are evenly spread to conveniently hold any solar cover up and off of the ground. Metal brackets hold the j-hooks which hangs freely off of the top rail of a swimming pool. To visualize a good placement of the Solar Pocket, simply lay your solar cover folded on the ground next to your swimming pool.

The Installation Process

Installing and assembling the Sun2Solar Solar Pocket is easy and only requires a few steps! Two bolts go into the pre-drilled holes of the top rail and through the mounting bracket which is then locked into place with two nuts. The Solar Pocket is then placed inside of the mounting bracket and held in place with another bolt and a nut.

Answer:	Hi. The best way to install this is to have the futon bed lay flat instead of upright position. Put the futon cover over it .. the straps are to secure the middle.. which means that you're gonna have to go under the futon to tie it securely..once that's done can put it back on upright position. ( yeah I had trouble with it at first) it's pretty much a bit of a workout ..hope that helps
