Answer:	The hook will fit a maximum door width of 1.75 inches.

Answer:	No, sorry. It fits snugly on a 1.5” thick door. It has cushions/padding to keep it from scratching the door, but even if you removed those (which wouldn’t be easy) the width of the metal hook is still less than 1.75 inches.

Answer:	The outside hooks extend beyond the width of the brackets, so the measurement from the outside knob to the other outside knob is 18-1/2 inches. Width of the brackets is 17 inches.
