Answer:	When I purchased them it was chilly here in Florida. I only put 2 in the pool. But didn't notice the pool being illuminated. But I only had 2 in. I can say that they are very pretty and float on top of the water. They are not solor and run on 2 of those round flat batteries. So when your evening is done you need to take them out and twist loose the battery to shut off.
