Answer: I have the 250 - it uses a lot of propane. I go thru about 5-10lbs per hour. I am heating my water to 85 degrees

Answer: Theoretically, yes, BUT getting Hayward to honor them is very, very, VERY nearly impossible. Had I not bought from a retailer where I was able to reach a live person who then went to bat for me, I would have been left with Hayward shrugging and saying they had no warranty providers in my STATE. Seriously. (I have to say that, had I known then what I know now about Hayward propane heaters, I would have stayed with my prior electric pool heater and spent the money switching over my hot water heater to gas instead.)

Answer: Our last heat exchanger only lasted 18 months. The previous pool heater we had lasted for years and years. Prepare yourself because the manufacturer is going to blame you for not maintaining a good water balance as the reason that their product is defective. We ended up buying a different pool heater rather than paying to get the heat exchanger replaced and putting more money into a defective product. We were very disappointed with the whole process of getting the manufacturer to honor their warranty.

Answer: if you are replacing your old Master Temp 300 with same unit it should be fine. I swapped one out in Sep., new unit matched existing H20 and gas lines perfectly. Caution- if not familar with electric connection hire an electrician. unit comes wired for 240VAC, easy change to 120VAC but you have to know what you are doing. Good luck, [email protected]
