If you do not know the replacement part number for your cartridge, then choosing the right cartridge can be accomplished by measuring your existing one. Use the following steps as a guide:

Measure the outside diameter of the cartridge in inches (+/- 1/16).
Measure cartridge length from end cap to end cap (+/- 1/16). Exclude any handles or extensions.
Identify the correct top and bottom type. If the top and/or bottom is open, measure the inside diameter of the opening (+/- 1/16th inch). If the end cap is closed make note of its identifying features (i.e. “Handle”, “Cone”, etc.).
Make note of the manufacturer and model number of the filter into which the replacement cartridge will be installed.
Take note whether or not there is a center core (PVC pipe in center).

Answer:	I have the round 12' w x 30" h pool that came with the 530 gph filter pump that has 1 1/4" hoses and this 1000 gph pump was a direct replacement. No hose adapters were needed. I'm not exactly sure what the model number is of the 530 gph pump but the hoses fit perfectly onto this pump. All I did was plug the inlet/outlet openings in the pool with the plugs that came with the pool and swapped out the pump. Took 5 minutes. I found a lot of the reviews here confusing because some seemed to indicate that hose adapters would be necessary but that turned out not to be the case. I'm pretty happy with this pump. Works waaaay better than the 530 gph.

Measure the outside diameter of the cartridge in inches (+/- 1/16).
Measure cartridge length from end cap to end cap (+/- 1/16). Exclude any handles or extensions.
Identify the correct top and bottom type. If the top and/or bottom is open, measure the inside diameter of the opening (+/- 1/16th inch). If the end cap is closed make note of its identifying features (i.e. “Handle”, “Cone”, etc.).
Make note of the manufacturer and model number of the filter into which the replacement cartridge will be installed.
Take note whether or not there is a center core (PVC pipe in center).

Answer:	I received the same "orange/gray" host attach piece. It is a male connector . . expecting a female hose connector. That's opposite of standard garden hoses, making this totally non-functional. BTW, the vacuum head didn't come with brushes, either. I expect we both have been sent the incorrect kit. Answer:	Screw the pices that have threds on them, they form the handle, push the plastic locking key thur the only hole it fits into, make sure the blue thing with wheeles, you just screwd the handle into is attached to it. Now take the bag and attach it to the biggest hole on the other blue thing. The only piece you should have left is to attach to the water hose. Its a simple push and release system. Easy peasy. Evey thing is awesome!

Answer:	Sorry, I just noticed that you said you just hooked it up and ran it for 30 minutes, so there probably isn't debris build-up yet. Sounds like air in the pump.

Answer:	Just arrived. Includes pump, two hoses and directional inlet. NO outlet fittings and NO plunger valves. In addition, for anyone making a "hillbilly pool" with a stock tank, this cannot pull water over the top. The best I can see, holes will need to be cut in the side so water can flow down into the pump.
Question:	I'm having problem getting the lid off and suggestion? I would greatly appreciated
Answer:	Yes, the lid can be hard to get off of the pump. What I use to make it easier is "O-Ring Lube", available at pool supply stores. Apply a thin coating to all mating surfaces and the O-ring seal. One other item I use is a strainer basket in the pool surface strainer, it catches most the leaves, so cleaning the basket on the pump doesn't have to be that often. Hope it helps you.

Answer:	I don’t think you can. It’s a factory warranty and if you install it I have read that the factory warranty isn’t honored when I read other customers responses. If it’s installed by a pool company it’s honored.
