Answer:	Hi, I think you should be able to test your Spring water with it. It's not as accruate as a lab test. We used it to test tthhe water and make sure it was ok for our livestock.

Answer:	We followed all the instructions and test indicators with ease of instructions. I don't remember what all the test were but it covered most of what was the most important of chemicals and bacteria. All the test came back safe for 0 nitrates, bacteria harmful to drink, etc. I would feel safe to shower/wash hands and to wash clothes in. We only used it to drink and wash our hands as it was put up at a lake. I would recommend that water not be stored and changed daily as we left the test water alone for 4 days further than it asked for and it did grow organisms as the chlorine is not there to kill them. However, drinking it fresh daily we never became sick and the water was perfect!! I am going to send a sample off to the state level for curiosity but I feel safe drinking what we draw from the well. I hope this helps.

Answer:	The lead test kit is a pass/fail type of test. The U.S EPA has a set a 15 part per billion (ppb) limit for municipal water providers. This test shows if the lead level in the water is above or below the 15 ppb level.

Answer:	The EPA set a threshold level of 15 parts per billion (ppb) for municipal water treatment companies. If 10% of the water samples contain over 15 ppb, the treatment company has to take action to remove the lead. No lead is considered safe to consume. The problem is lead can enter the water system at your home through pipes, solder and fixtures. There are no regulations for controlling lead on your private property.

Answer:	Most of the tests require single test strips. pH, hardness and alkalinity are on a single test strip.
Question:	Turned yellow & horrible disgusting smell coming from bottle that was tightly screwed
Answer:	Correction! IF you kept the bottle for LONGER than 48 hours it will eventually turn yellow. IF the bottle remained purple up to 48 hours, the water is not contaminated. A yellow color, along with odor IS possible if you keep the jar LONGER than 48 hours. This is caused by the break-down of the nutrients in the jar. It does not indicate coliform if you keep the bottle longer than 48 hours.
Question:	Does this test for salmonela? Our well may be fouled after a recent flood
Answer:	No. The bacteria test only detects coliform bacteria. Only a lab can test for Salmonella.

Answer:	The bottle contains a special nutrient blend. When a water sample if added, the nutrients dissolve, turning the water purple/magenta. Question:	Why didn’t I get directions
Answer:	The directions are on the side of the bottle. The only additional paper that came with my shipment was a page of EPA Maximum Contaminant levels and the note that you could refer to www.epa.gov for more details. You can contact Baldwin Meadows at [email protected]. However, I didn't need directions since these operate like the old litmus test strips from chemistry classes. Just dip in water for 1 second, remove immediately and hold horizontally for 30 seconds without touching/removing water, and line up with the colors printed on the outside of the bottle. The PH and Total Alkalinity tabs have colors that will let you line the correct end of the strip up with the color template.

Answer:	They very carefully NEVER tell you where these are made or how to contact them other than through Internet. Question:	My daughter is doing a Science Fair project on filtering pond water to make it safe to drink. Would this test work for the before and after testing
Answer:	Hi, Thank you for considering our test kit for your daughter’s science fair project. Our test kits are used in classrooms across the country to detect contaminants from different water sources. This should work for the project. The one thing that I would caution you about is that the results are only accurate directly after the test strips are dipped into water. The color on the strips deteriorates as they dry out. Therefore, you may want to take pictures of the results and post them rather than showing the actual test strips unless the experiment is being done live. Answer:	Thanksgiving your question. The expiration date on this particular lot is January 2020 (2 year shelf life). They will stay fresh for the full 2 years as long as the bottle is sealed after use.
