Answer:	Just set them out along the trail. I put three down on the trail about 12 inches apart. I actually waited to see if they would go in and take the bait. The ants took about a day to take it. Each day you can see less and less of the ants and they move a lot slower until on the 4th or 5th day when you don't see them anymore. I kept the bait out an extra week just in case and did not see the ants in that area again until the following year.

Answer:	I can't answer your question but I would suggest not using the bait cups. Just smear a little peanut butter or put a piece of a hot dog on the trap.

I had one go missing as well. Did get rid of my problem. Try to secure the trap in an area so it can't be dragged off. Also another instance, you may have trapped your rodent and another animal picked it up to eat it and dragged it off.
