Answer:	We had a jar of Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter that expired in 2014, which happenes to be the same year we had our first mouse in the house. We live in a very wooded area so it's to be expected. Anyway, it's 2018 now and we are still using the same jar of expired Skippy Creamy 2014. And the reason why is because I've also had this same mouse trap that came in the pk of two. This thing still works and never ever misses. And as another comment said make sure the trap is up against the wall but leave it out 1-2 inches to allow the mouse room to investigate. Hope this helps. I will never buy another trap unless it can somehow get better. Never missed and that's 20 plus mice on this one trap. ★★★★★
