Answer:	This repellent is pretty strong....Which means it works. I have and do use it on my neck and ears. I have not used it on my face.

Answer:	2 ounces is correct. No more, no less, but enough to last for 2 people on Koh Phi Phi Island for 5 days.

Answer:	That all depends what "daily use" means. Are you planning on applying it liberally or only using a drop? Will you need to re-apply after 12 hrs, or just be using it once a day? How extensive is the surface area you'll need to cover each day? In my experience, one container will not last 2 weeks. It's pretty small, being only 2 oz.
Question:	How does it smell? I use Off Deep Woods which has that citrus-y weird smell. Is this similar, milder, stronger in terms of smell
Answer:	This should be much milder than Off Deep Woods aerosol that I have used. I can smell the Ultrathon, but it is so much more kind to me than the aerosols. And you don't spray it so it can't end up in your nose (unless you intentionally put it there!). This is probably the best (or one of the best) smelling DEET-based repellent. DEET is very effective but the smell and inhalation were big negatives for me, and I feel that this lotion solves those problems.

Answer:	My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Africa, and we used almost 2 tubes total (so with our use 1 tube lasts about 2 weeks or more per person). A little goes a long way and you don't want to over apply it. You only use it on exposed skin, and you should avoid contact with clothing. We wore long pants and longer sleeves most of the time though, so if your skin is going to be more exposed you may want to plan for 2 tubes per week.

The cans come in 8 &12hr variety. 12hr is a cream I don't see anything about permethrin mentioned on the entire bottle. There are several Ultrathon patented protections you get by default: 3M time release, Insect Repellant for mosquitos, ticks, biting flies, chiggers, gnats, flees and dear flies by creating a barrier they're unable to cross. great product.

Question:	Can the deer smell this product
Answer:	Can't say that I have- I do rub on back of neck and pat my ears- to keep pesky gnats/mosquitoes away. I have used this for 3 years since I discovered it, love it as you don't have to reapply, good for 12 hours- BUT it stays with you and you have to wash off at end of day. If I put on legs/ankles and out mowing weed-eating, the dirt, dust grit sticks to you. Not really aware that it is sticky per se is a white cream you rub on, not necessarily rub 'in'. Since stuff sticks to it, I wouldn't put on face, and if it should get in eyes, probably not good. shielding yourself on arms, legs and neck- you are good to take on the bug world. I kept repellent at every door because I am a bug magnet- this is so much better, no smell! Tube lasts me all summer.

Answer:	I don't know, this has come up before- I'd suggest writing the mfg and asking. I have kept for 2 years (seasons) and it still works, not sure if good for us, but continues to be effective to keep mosquitoes and chiggers off.

Answer:	To be honest I have not tried the others you mention, but I swear by the 3-M ultrathon as the best insect repellent I have ever used. I have given to friends and family over the past number of years. I am super sensitive to mosquitoes and I am a magnet- attracting them. If one mosquito and 20 people I will get bitten. I spend a lot of time outside- therefore I apply the cream on my ankles, back of knees, elbows and pat my ears/neck with what is left on my hands. It keeps the worrisome gnats from swarming around your ears and face. It has no odor to speak of, rubs in well and is effective for 10-12 hours. It is greasy non-staining on clothes, but if using a weed-eater the dirt and debris stirred up will stick to your ankles or legs! So when done for the day I wash it off. I've bought other lotions, sprays and every remedy out there and though maybe effective for short term- doesn't last and if I missed an area I would be bitten. It must emit some smell to the insects that keeps them away from your whole body. My daughter is a magnet for chiggers/redbugs that itch and swell for days- if she uses Ultrathon, she stays free of them. I should have stock in the product as much as I recommend it. One tube last an entire season- spring to fall! So is economical as well.

Answer:	Per the front of the product, 34.34% DEET and the other 65.66% is other ingredients. I've been using this stuff for over a year now and it keeps pretty much everything from biting. I'd highly recommend it.

Answer:	I always apply sunscreen first and wait a few minutes before applying repellent. Sunscreen bonds to the skin while the repellent provides a barrier.

Answer:	This was more of a lotion in how it applies and feels afterward. It didn't seem oily to me. As for how well it works, my pediatrician recommended it as we were taking our 2-year-old to Belize. Not a single bug bite on the entire family! My brother's family used a different product, and were eaten up, so I highly recommend this one.
