12 best hot shot for bed bugs

Hot Shot is a well-known brand that offers a range of pest control products, including solutions for bed bug infestations. Their products are designed to help homeowners and professionals combat bed bugs effectively. Here are some key points about Hot Shot's offerings for bed bug control:

  1. Bed Bug Killer Sprays: Hot Shot offers a variety of bed bug killer sprays that are designed to kill bed bugs on contact. These sprays typically contain active ingredients like pyrethroids or neonicotinoids, which are effective against bed bugs. Users can apply these sprays to infested areas, including mattresses, box springs, and cracks and crevices where bed bugs may hide.

  2. Bed Bug Foggers: Hot Shot also produces bed bug foggers, which are aerosol cans that release a fog of insecticide into a room. These foggers are intended to treat larger areas for bed bug infestations. It's essential to follow the instructions carefully when using foggers to ensure safety and effectiveness.

  3. Bed Bug Traps and Glue Boards: Some Hot Shot products include bed bug traps and glue boards. These traps are designed to capture and monitor bed bug activity. They can be useful for detecting the presence of bed bugs and determining the severity of an infestation.

  4. Bed Bug Mattress and Luggage Treatments: Hot Shot provides mattress and luggage treatments that help protect against bed bugs. These products are designed to create a barrier that prevents bed bugs from infesting your mattress or hitchhiking in your luggage when you travel.

  5. Pest Control Kits: Hot Shot offers bed bug pest control kits that often include a combination of sprays, powders, and other products designed for a comprehensive approach to bed bug elimination.

When using any pest control products, including those from Hot Shot, it's crucial to read and follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. User questions & answers

Question: How often can I use hot sho
Answer: I live in a high roach/bug infested neighborhood. The first 2 years we didn't have any problems in our place, however for the last 2 years, the bugs are just getting worse. I plan to use this product as directed and repeat in a couple of weeks and just keep going until the bugs are gone.
Question: Do you have to unplug your refrigerator before using these foggers? (yes I'll be doing the kitchen
Answer: Bed Bugs are hard to kill and in order for this to be guaranteed you need to use it over and over several times in the entire house. We contacted a pest control company and they insisted that WE move all the furniture out of any rooms WE needed treated, WE wash all our clothing, towels, throws, and anything else on high heat and dry on high heat, WE remove our carpet and then after WE had done all that the pest control company would charge over a thou$and dollars. More like $1,500. And then they would come back once in 2 weeks and retreat and not guarantee it after that. In other words, You do all the work and they come in with sprays that are far more deadly than what I can buy and spray. But still no real guarantee. If I have to do all the work and still no guarantee, I'm going to do the work and use these bed bug bombs for several months (2 weeks apart) and get a superior job (including new flooring) than would be worth the "pro" coming in. And yes. The pest control company will tell you it doesn't work because they need a couple thou$and dollar$ out of you.
Question: If my pilot for the water heater is in the basement and I'm not using the fogger there, do I have to shut if off
Answer: I didn't turn any of my pilots or water heater off so I don't think you need to worry
Question: Will it going to kill eggs? Bedbug
Answer: It appears to be more steroids rather than extermination. I have used 150 cans, the powder, and the gallon plastic containers for a number of years. Diatimatious Earth works on crawling insects including Bed Bugs but will not get to the eggs. The food grade powder is available in 1 pound bags through Amazon. Not only does it dehydrate bags that crawl across but has safe, medicinal value through human ingestions. The foggers leave a residue on everything. The air with the fog is most unpleasant for me but the Bed Bugs appear to love it. The low sticky boards are much better but an insect or rodent must crawl across the board. I have more than 50 of the cardboard three pack boxes left. I placed the fogger on the opened (flattened) boxes. Then discard the card board after a few uses. After possible 4-5 years I just finished with the last gallon liquid Hot Shot Bedbug container and started with an other product I purchased on Amazon. Very expensive but if it works will actually be cheap in total dollar cost. The D.E. powder is something you can ingest if food grade but you will need masks and a separate vacuum as the D.E. will clog a regular vacuum.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work immediately? I sprayed it, but they're still alive! Help
Answer: It only works immeditatlely if you have no regard for your breathing. What I mean is, if you spray until the smell makes you sick. This is not a kill on contact, more like corner and trap them but then they may get away anyway.
Question: Can I apply on fur? (Like fur coat and boots
Answer: Your fur should be fine, but the smell may stick around for a while.
Question: Does it kill Flies
Answer: Would you use a wrench to hammer a nail? The answer should be NO. So why would you use a BedBug spray to kill fries?
Question: Can this be sprayed on the mattress before sealing it in a mattress bag or is the dust better for that
Answer: MY OPINION ONLY SPRAY ON MATTRESS IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEAL IN PROTECTIVE SEALING. ALSO JUST A NOTE HAVE TO WASH SHEETS EVERY OTHER DAY OR CHANGE EVERY OTHER DAY. DID THIS FOR THREE MONTHS UNTIL I GOT PROFESSIONAL TERMINATOR.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this kill stink bugs
Answer: NO! Absolutely No! The only thing that kill---and eliminate bed bugs---is the powder that we spread all over the floor in all rooms. They hide under the crevices of the wood. Forget about foggers too, they don't work either!
Question: What does everyone think about how it smells? I want to use it on a bed in a train just in case
Answer: The odor is kinda strong, but PLEASE, do not use it in a train, it is not fair to subject unknowing passengers to a smell, or chemicals, that might endanger someones health, that is not loving, or courteous.
Question: Ingredients please
Answer: Active ingredients are cypermethrin , 20% and other ingredients 99.80%, which are not listed. This product is very strong. I only used the product once, just to strong for me.
Question: Does this kill fleas also
Answer: i do know it kills bed bugs on the spot. it says it also kills fleas an dust mites, non staining no odor but when spraying it on those bugs it does have an odor and very strong odor depends how much you use

Prior to travel:

1. Spray your luggage with a product with a product registered to treat bed bugs and for use on luggage. Allow to dry completely.

2. Pack dirty laundry in plastic bags which you can take directly to the laundry room at home.

Returning home:

1. Do not unpack luggage inside. Unpack outside in the garage, laundry room or utility room.

2. Remove the laundry you placed in sealable bags in the hotel and throw it immediately in the dryer on the highest heat setting possible.

User questions & answers

Question: What size mattress does this cover
Answer: it fit our queen size mattress and box spring. However it was too short to seal so we covered the end with a garbage bag and sealed it with packing tape.
Question: How many bags come with this
Answer: One
Question: How long do you keep the mattress in the bag
Answer: I would keep it on permanently.
Question: Is this just a bag or does it have some kind of treatment that kills them
Answer: it's a big plastic bag, and also a pouch of chemical. It's difficult to fit the mattress in it. I ended up just using a hand-held steamer and that worked great.

Quick Facts About Bed Bugs

Bed bugs take time and patience to control, and taking a persistent, comprehensive approach is the key to taking care of the problem as quickly as possible. A systematic, three-step cycle of thorough detection, consistent treatment with products registered by the EPA for use against bed bugs, and prevention against spread and reinfestation will help you gain control.

Bed bugs cannot jump or fly.

Bed bugs in large numbers produce a sweet, musky odor.

Bed bugs cannot crawl easily on slippery surfaces.

Detection

Bed bugs are often a challenge to detect. Bites may be the first indicator that you have a problem, but you can confirm the presence of bed bugs in large numbers through their smell which is a sweet, musky odor. You may also notice rust-colored spots on your bedding or mattress. Sometimes you may see adult bed bugs in the mattress folds or on the wall behind the headboard. You can also detect bed bugs by using bed bug detection products around your home to give you a warning of bed bugs. These glue traps or interceptor devices monitor bed bug activity and provide a barrier between the floor, your bed, and furniture. This is an important tool for frequent travelers or families with college students who may bring home bedding, furniture or laundry. Use Hot Shot Bed Bug Glue Trap or Hot Shot Bed Bug Interceptor for detection.

Treat Large Household Items

Items which cannot be laundered or heat-treated outdoors should be placed inside the Hot Shot Bedbug Mattress and Luggage Treatment Kit. Seal mattresses, box springs, furniture and luggage inside the kit’s large plastic bag for two to seven days to control bed bugs at all stages, see product label for complete directions.

Treat the Room

For larger areas or heavy infestations, a fogger can be used, but you must properly dismantle the bed, prop the mattress and box spring up against the wall and vacate the room (including pets) for at least 3 hours. Please follow all label instructions.

Treat Cracks and Crevices

Use aerosols and liquid sprays to treat the cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide. Hot Shot Bedbug and Flea Killer3 aerosol spray works best for bed frames, floorboards and baseboards. Hot Shot Bedbug and Flea Home Insect Killer2 liquid spray can be used on mattresses and box springs, but can also treat the perimeter of infested rooms, carpet or tack strips.

Treat the Perimeter

Use Hot Shot Bedbug and Flea Killer Powder against bed bugs in cracks and crevices, electrical outlets and along the edges of carpeting and baseboards.

User questions & answers

Question: How long do you keep it down before vacuuming it all up
Answer: We went out of town for the weekend . We came back to vacuum it up and it was a total mess. It was like vaccuuming wet flour. Gummed up everything and took hours to clean the carpet. Our carpet felt like a hair brush after we finally got it all up. It was soft and fluffy before using it.
Question: Is it safe
Answer: We've found it very safe
Question: Do this power kill eggs and adults instantly
Answer: It takes a day or 2 to kill them with this product. The diatomaceous earth in it dehydrates them so it takes time. If you clean your house really good, use a bed bug spray, then apply this after the spray has dried it should take care of your bed bug problem

User questions & answers

Question: Does this kill scabies mites
Answer: It doesn't say so on the can. I would search the internet for something.
Question: How to use safely
Answer: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! It doesn't kill bedbugs. I wasted money on this and their bombs. I ended up buying this product because the exterminator that got rid of the bedbugs at my old house (thanks to a disgusting rommate who brought them) used it. I took a picture of the product he used, and how he applied it to the cracks in the floor, walls, outlets, lightswitch areas, etc.). I have also used this product to kill moths that were in my pantry (due to a bag of birdseed that I bought that had them in it) as well as those pesky, little ants in my kitchen. This product works!!!! Make sure nothing alive (humans, animals) are in the room for a few hours, the fumes are pretty lethal! My dog got a whiff of it and caughed for a few days! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VFL2WM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
Question: Do i need to vaccum after spraying
Answer: I didn't need to. The bug bomb works great also. It took care of my infestation.
