Answer:	This could work well with an 8’ offset umbrella. You will need to fill the base with as much weight as possible. We have 10’ offset umbrellas and this wasn’t quite enough when filled with sand, dirt, and flowers. It probably would have been fine for 8’ offset.

Question:	can you use this without using a table
Answer:	As long as the dimensions of the pole fit. You tighten it with a screw if it is too small. Stand can be filled with water or sand. It will save your umbrella from high winds!

Answer:	It works fine freestanding. After loading it up with sand, it probably weighs about 30-35 lbs. I did have to wedge a spare door hindge into the hole to keep the umbrella stable enough from tilting and spinning. You may not have this problem if your pole is large enough.

We also would recommend putting some type of pad under the touch points to alleviate any wear on the corners where they touch the patio. Answer:	The green one doesn't seem to have the rain flaps at the roofline that the 9879 for sure has. That's the only difference I see. You could use wind panels on the 9821, but it won't keep rain out.

Answer:	That might work, but you have to modify how you attach it to the inside of the tent. There is a way to attach to the out side of the tent using the hooks. What I did was make a bar that attaches to the upright bars on each side of the door. Attach the panel to the cross bar. The next upgraded unit the Pavillion has it already built in, but it is $150-$175 more and it is 150" wide and 9 feet tall. Hope this information helps.

Answer:	The height of the tube that holds the umbrella is 11.5 inches, not including the flat base. The flat base is 1.5" and does not appear to incline at the center. The photo looks more like an incline than it actually is. There is a circular lip around the pole area that is 1/4". The opening for the umbrella pole is 1.5"

Answer:	Yes--I have a 9' umbrella in mine. I filled it with water and it's heavy and sturdy. (Sand is heavier, if you choose that.)

Answer:	We actually opted to fill with hose water. Easier all the way around, for filling & emptying. Virtually free!

Answer:	No, I don't think so, although I have only had my Elite Umbrella Base since last fall, which is late in the mosquito season here in Virginia. The reason that mosquitos can not breed in the water in the base is that the water chamber is separate from the tube that holds the umbrella. So mosquitoes can not get to the water, so long as you keep the pill plug in place. Water dripping between the umbrella pole and the holder tube is not captured but drips through to the ground.
Question:	how many liters of water does it hold
Answer:	I haven't opened mine yet! It is going to a cottage in Harpswell Maine. But, I think the water is a good idea if you plan to empty it in the winter which is what I may do. I wouldn't let water overwinter outside so sand would work better if that is what you have to do.
