The plastic wine cups are a thinner plastic and I've only hand washed those too. I think everything, including the plastic handled silverware, can be washed in the dishwasher on the top rack, but just to be safe and to keep everything looking new, I've only hand washed everything. |

| Answer: | It does not leak as long as it remains upright, but will leak if laid on its side. Quick note - freeze your water bottles. We used the backpack in Washington DC last July and it was hot. We froze our water bottles and still had ice in them at the end of the day - even the bottles that we had in the two outside pockets. You could also use a cool pack inside. Hope this helps! |
