Pulling out the footrest might make noise if you do it too quickly, but if you do it slowly (bc it's manual) it wouldn't make any noise. When you lean back into the backrest too quickly it does make a little bit of a sound the first time, bit I tried it several times after and it seemed to adjust itself and didn't make any more noise. |

| Answer: | Foam meant for couch cushions comes in many thicknesses, in other words, Heights Start by measuring the height of your current cushions. Then do online search for foam for couch cushions, 6" high. Or whatever height your cushions are. For whatever reason, maybe my mis-measurement, I used two thicknesses in my cushions one thicker (I think it was 5 in) and one thinner (this 1/2 inch foam) Good luck measuring and good luck cutting. Would probably be good to have some kind of a small hacksaw, I used serrated bread knife |

| Answer: | Yes, I think so. It is dense and would be good upholstery/cushion foam. Keep in mind it's only 1 inch thick. Even so, it should add firmness when combined w existing cushion. |
