Answer:	Your question is exactly what I was thinking too to use in a shower. I typed in Aluminum stools and benches this came up. I was looking for an all aluminum bench. This is listed at only 26 inches wide so it would fit my shower floor plate which is 32 by 60 and we almost went with a 34 but the 32 fit our opening better. So we argued with the contractor that I did not want an installed wall bench on one end. First we are not there were we need one. Two even if it folds up for now it's something else to clean and be bothered with. Second if we sell the home someday let others have the option of installing a wall seat. And finally I wanted a bench or stool I can use inside the shower if I want or need and otuside too. I really wanted the log stump aluminum stools that some folks use as benches until I tracked down their prices and decided to find something a little less expansive and less whimsical. Though that is still what I had in mind. They sell a lovely turning stoll all most all aluminum and rated for 400 pounds of weight here on Amazon for 135.00 dollars and also a saddle seat version that does not move again weight limit is 400. We are all well below 200 pounds here but you never know a guest might weigh in that much. So I'm torn between this style that the flat top can double duty to hold items or the swivel stool. I can use the stool as a vanity seat outside the shower and takes up less room as this would yet...I'm off to figure it out. I usually do not have this much time making up my mind. I wouldn't if this was all aluminum. But happy a few others mentioned they do use it in their shower as it is listed for outdoor use I would think it should handle a shower. But all metal would be nicer than a resin and perhaps more durable too.
