Good to know replacements are so inexpensive on eBay 🙃 I guess if you’ve never used a mower before you might wonder where the grass goes. I’ve never used a bag, never dethatched, my zoysia is more than 35 years old and very healthy. I consider the grass clippings a gift from God. As far as where does the cut grass go, it stays pretty much right there. This is a very small mower if you use it that way. If the green stuff is very tall, we just had more than 10 days of rain, then I cut little narrow swathes. It is a weed eater with a deck. I had breast cancer 4 years ago. The treatment almost did me in. Up until then I did my own yard work. I’ve paid hundreds of dollars hiring idiots to scalp my zoysia and then take out my roses, Japanese maples, fig trees, lilies and plants large enough to see with weeders. I bought this little guy for me to use as it’s small enough for me use to mow my uneven lawn and it’s hard to scalp s rise budh if the weeder stays in the deck. I love this little guy.

Answer:	I had issues initially. I would set it on the charger and it would say done quickly. This battery required me to push the battery further onto the charger sliding down another 1/10 of an inch. Had no problems since. My 4.0 amps just set on it and charge.

Answer:	Regular charger I believe. For me it seems to take about three hours to recharge. I have two because I also bought a hedge trimmer. They seem to last about 25 minutes each, which is more than I can last.

Answer:	There is actually not much difference between the two. By the way, the LST136 is a discontinued model, while the LST140C is a current model...I think it just came out this year.They both have the same autofeed, and use the same spool, and of course, the same size line. The LST136 will pull 40v at max power, and 36v at normal/lower power...I noticed that someone has claimed that the LST140C is just on/off, but pages six and twelve of the manual says it's a variable speed control. I experimented a little, and it appears that the trigger's range of motion between off and full power is very, very short, as opposed to the LST136 (I really hate the bastard who stole mine--I'd either have to spend a lot more, or travel to another city to get another). I just now checked the B&D website to see what they say, and the LST136 is supposed to spin at 6500-8500 rpm, while the LST140C is supposed to be just 6500 rpm. Either their manual is wrong, or their website...take your pick.The LST136 uses the LBXR36 battery pack, and the LST140C uses the LBX1540...but aside from minor style differences (including rubber on the bottom of the LBXR36), and the LBX1540 having a three level charge indicator vs. the four that the LBXR36 has, they are identical, including charge/use time. They are interchangable, which is the very first thing I tried out, once I'd put my 140C together. By the way, that battery has been off the charger for about a year, give or take a few months, and it appears to still have a full charge on it...awesome!My LST136 came with the fast charger, and the LST140C I just bought came with a slow charger, which is likely part of why the LST140C is cheaper. The fast charger is a lot bigger...the battery fits into it, while the slow charger is a little thing that clips onto the terminals.On the LST140C, the plastic runs around a foot further down the shaft, with the handle snapping onto a pair of spring-loaded buttons, one of which has indentations which lock the position of the handle...a great improvement over the handle design of the LST136. The handle on the LST136, if I recall correctly, can be moved up and down the shaft, and can easily be accidentally turned out of line with the control switch, which isn't all that helpful. Also, the LST140C's length adjustment is mounted on the lower end of the plastic, as opposed to being somewhere between the handle and the head.If there is any difference between in the head/guard, it isn't much at all.I wish the LST140C's switch had a bit more play, but I suspect it won't really matter overall.

Answer:	I would think it should unless its just a jungle. Go at it in small patches. It has easily done everything I have asked it to do. I am quite satisfied.

Answer:	That is accurate. Higher Amp hours the more capacity of the battery. With the 3 Ah you get one battery. With the 1.5 Ah you get two batteries. Should equal out to the same amount of run time. Only difference is the 3.0 Ah battery is physically larger and heavier than the 1.5. So if you have a bad shoulder or older you might opt for the two 1.5 batteries and just swap them when the first goes dead. If you're not having issues with the weight, go with the 3ah single battery.

Answer:	Yes, theoretically a battery with double the amp/hour capacity CAN last twice as long with a whole bucketload of IFS! IF the ‘Speed’ adjustment is EXACTLY the same; IF the thickness of the weeds/grass is exactly the same; IF the ‘duty cycle (on time vs off time) is exactly the same, etc, etc. From a practical standpoint suffice to say that battery life between charges WILL be noticeably longer BUT, when using the same charger, recharge time MAY also be noticeably longer. Im sure that, by now, you’ve noticed all the “IFS and “MAYS” in my short reply. This only goes to illustrate the very large number of variables involved in reliably estimating battery time between charges.

Answer:	I battery seems to be specific to this brand of tool. The batteries were not interchangeable with my Dewalt tools

Question:	Does it come with a battery and the charger
Answer:	depends on which posting you are looking at... There is one that is just trimmer and blower (usually called "bare") , then there is the "kit" that includes one or two batteries. If your looking at the $66+ model it comes with one battery and charger, the $74+ one has two batteries and one charger. If you do not already have equipment from the 20V Max series I'd spend the extra 20 and get the two battery one. The blower loves to go through the standard battery. I love my set. It's perfect for the area I need to cover.

Answer:	The 40v model is marked discontinued and is priced at list of $149. The 36v model is marked as list of $149 but selling for less. I assume the latter is the active model.

Question:	how low to the ground can it trim, 1/2" less
Answer:	The mower frame has 2 heights. The lowest one might be 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch. The higher setting is maybe an inch or a little over. If you're using just the trimmer, you can go as close to the ground as you want.
Question:	I will be going home soon from a hip replacement is this very easy to use to cut the grass? I will have some restrictions for a bit
Answer:	The chemo wiped out what little knee cartilage I had. That why I bought mine. Very light wright handle length is adjustable but my 6’5” tall brother didn’t find it long enough for him. I carry a small paint brush in my tool pouch. I mow, it’s getting the spot I want done to suit me. I tap on the orange lever on the back to turn it into a weeder. If the grass is tall, wet, thick, it can build up around the edges were the weeders fits back into the deck. I grab the brush, clean off the grass, weeder goes right back into place and I’m back to mowing again. A friend said she had to step on that little lever to get hers to sit back in until she tried the paint brush. You’ll love it. Any piece of yard equipment I own had some little something I’ve had to learn. But 2-3 seconds to fix this issue. Wow!
Question:	What size string? My B&D uses .06, I want a heavier nylon string
Answer:	The line size is 0.065 in. The model number for the Auto-Feed Trimmer Line Spools is AF-100.
Question:	Does it cut the grass evenly in mower mode? or does it leave visible rows or tracks
Answer:	as long as you use it like you would a regular type of mower (keep your lines straight, mow in rows) it is fine. My lawn was long the first time I did it so it took a little bit to get used to, but you can't tell the difference in my opinion. You can also adjust the string height in mower mode. Question:	Are the trimmer, battery and charger of the LST136W (40V) and LCC140 identical? Description lists slightly different (non-existing?) part numbers
Answer:	The battery is a 40v, LBXR2036 serial CGG1436819012 The charger is LCS436 Type 1 A number embossed on charger plug is 2014 07 UE. As I said the battery worked well upon arrival but I have no way to test the charger.
Question:	Do you have to use the B&D pre round trim cord, or can you change out to something stronger. If you can change it out, do you still need to self wind
Answer:	You can use bulk string from any store, but you have to self wind it on the old Black and Decker spool. It must be same diameter string however. I Ind it strong enough for normal use.
Question:	Does this kit include the charger ? I don't see it listed
Answer:	Yes it is included, but be sure to open both ends of the box. The charger is on one end with the owners manual, the battery is on the other end.

Answer:	Found this on an Amazon question site. Hope it helps."Etienne said on September 29, 2014 Update: according to B&D Support, these are the differences between the charger and battery part numbers: "The difference in the two batteries is the amp hour ratings. The LBXR36 has a 1.5 amp hour rating. The LBXR2036 has a 2.0 amp hour rating. The higher amp hour rating provides 30% more run time in the 40V tools. The difference in the chargers is the charge time. The LCS36 charges the batteries in 2 hours. The LCS436 charges the batteries in 6 hours." I ordered the LST136W as well as the LCC140. Contrary to their descriptions, BOTH ship with the larger capacity LBXR2036 battery. The LLC140 ships with the slow charger LCS436, the LST136W with the LCS36 fast charger. So in return for a sweeper (for a few dollars extra), you'll give up a faster charger by choosing the LCC140 package."
