Answer:	yes, it works perfect. make sure you have the correct hole in the middle. one is a star type. my yard guy didn't check until i ordered the wrong one first.

Answer:	There is the main central hole for your nut to attach, then there are two smaller holes either side. On my mower these holes are filled by a couple of protruding divots which then keep the blade in position and prevent it from spinning around. The blade also has two holes further out near the end, one each side, but I am not sure what function they have, none that I can see.

Answer:	Thomas, I bought them for mine (LTX1040 Cub Cadet 2012) but haven't put them on yet. My manual says part Number 942-04312. That's what this claims. While you are changing them check the belt. My belt is: 954-04060B. Also, grease all grease fittings. There should be one under the deck and on the tire & axel bearings. It looks line the part number for you is 742-04101 (2) Sorry, It doesn't appear this is the one. Double check the number before you order it. Good luck.

Answer:	I am unsure of the direct replacement numbers. The best way to figure it out is by deck size (in inches), and by mounting type. The problem I ran into was that my mower (Craftsman) was not listed as having a 6-pointed star hole, only a 5-point. However, 6 is what I had! I found out that MTD was the manufacturer of this mower for Sears, and a number of other brands as well. So, I went and looked at a number of other mowers to see if they had similar design features, guess what? Many were nearly carbon copies of my mower, only with different paint and trim. (The same thing happens with cars, too.) At that point, I felt comfortable ordering the blades, based on the nearly identical mowers I found. i.e., MTD, 42", 6-point. I was not disappointed. There are heavier blades, and tough! They do a much better job on the lawn, and by closing the discharge opening on the deck, I just mulch my leaves... No more raking!
