While you are changing them check the belt. My belt is: 954-04060B. Also, grease all grease fittings. There should be one under the deck and on the tire & axel bearings. It looks line the part number for you is 742-04101 (2) Sorry, It doesn't appear this is the one. Double check the number before you order it. Good luck. |

| Answer: | I am unsure of the direct replacement numbers. The best way to figure it out is by deck size (in inches), and by mounting type. The problem I ran into was that my mower (Craftsman) was not listed as having a 6-pointed star hole, only a 5-point. However, 6 is what I had! I found out that MTD was the manufacturer of this mower for Sears, and a number of other brands as well. So, I went and looked at a number of other mowers to see if they had similar design features, guess what? Many were nearly carbon copies of my mower, only with different paint and trim. (The same thing happens with cars, too.) At that point, I felt comfortable ordering the blades, based on the nearly identical mowers I found. i.e., MTD, 42", 6-point. I was not disappointed. There are heavier blades, and tough! They do a much better job on the lawn, and by closing the discharge opening on the deck, I just mulch my leaves... No more raking! |

Extended Cutting Edge. Multi-Cutting Teeth for a cleaner, finer cut, increased mulching, and more uniform clipping distribution. Blade is 21 3-16" long, 3" wide, and .150" thick. Has 6 point center hole to mount on the 6 point star spindle. - To ensure this part goes with your machine you should always go by the model number and serial number, which is normally found under the seat of your riding mower. If you have a Hustler, the model and serial number decal is located on the frame directly below and to the left of the operator’s platform or on the left frame side rail.
- Better Mulching than with OEM style blades.

| Answer: | I too own a Troy-Bilt "Super Horse" 50" lawn tractor. Here is the information you seek: MTD PN: 942-05052 = 17.25" MTD PN: 942-05053 = 17.75" There is .50" difference in length. Consult your Owner's Manual for the correct part number or look under the hood for a label bearing the correct blade number. My Troy-Built "Super Horse" requires the shorter blade while my Cub Cadet LTX 1050 requires the longer one. Both lawn tractors are considered 50" models. |

| Answer: | These blades fit older RZT zero turn 50" decks but not the newer Ultima ZT1 and ZT2. The blades needed to fit the Ultimas are 17.27" long "MTD Xtreme 50-Inch 3 Blade Set" Model # 490-110-M178 or the individual blades are sold as MTD Xtreme 742-05052-X; or 742P05052-X (be careful many order these thinking they are getting 3 blades and only get 1 instead). Unfortunately it seems no one on Amazon is selling this set of mulching blades (yet) even though the Cub Cadet Ultima models are some of the best selling zero turns in the country several years in a row now. Even more surprising is other blade makers like Oregon Gator or Maxpower have not made a set to fit these newer decks either. Makes no business sense. |
